    Check out the "Eleventh Hour" arc of The Adventure Zone podcast. It was awesome and exactly what you're talking about.

    There's some show that's supposed to be Western and sci-fi, called East Town or Northland or something.

    Dear Penny Arcade Comic People,

    Today I was hoping to find a ttrpg based comic when I came to your site.
    There was one.
    Thank you.

    The orc priest looks down upon your party in contempt, as you struggle against the manacles that keep you chained to the altar. With those Fortitude saves, you have successfully consumed the sacrificial cow of their dark lord Teks'Ess. Mountains of meat and gallons of a burning, yet sweet, liquid were force-fed into your gullet by the deaf and dumb slaves, ignoring your screams of agony. But you have triumphed against your captors, and you defiantly stare into the eyes of pure evil.

    But wait!* The priest calls for one more horrid sacrifice. The acolytes strain under the load as they haul an unfamiliar object on a slab, like pallbearers struggling with an oversized coffin...

    Roll a Willpower save to avoid falling into despair.

    * WAIT. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. WAIT.

    A lumbering, bloated form groans from the other side of a billowing portal. The attendants turn their laden tables towards their god and raise their voices in cheer: "Hail T'Excess!"

    There was a Gary Gygax game called Boot Hill. Very D&D-like, kinda boring.
