I am curious what in Modern you're trying to stifle. Like, I guess you can stop Finks from persisting, which is nice? But it's not much action against Death's Shadow, Jund, Hatebears...
I guess if they sac ravager to put counters on an inkmoth you can stifle that and they lose their ravager and all the counters? If that's how that works it's pretty sweet.
3 in the air for 3 is a solid card. Give it the extra utility of countering an ability while providing card draw and that is totally a tool box of a card.
"Go down, kick ass, and set yourselves up as gods, that's our Prime Directive!"

Stifling a storm trigger is pretty savage when you get to do it.

Catching up on Magic story, including the last 5 episodes of Amonkhet, and I'm just rereading the first episode of Hours and this bit "They were determined not to fail this time. No monster could defeat the eight gods of Amonkhet. Not when Naktamun was all that remained." is such a fun bit of mystery dropping, Amonkhet is a cool plane

Stifling a fetchland for no essential card cost is pretty strong in some circumstances. There are a lot of small things that are good to stifle that add up to being irksome. Whether the card is universally good remains to be seen, but it seems situationally useful.

and then he vamp tutor'd in response to goblin guide attacking, so
give and take
I !punt ed that super fast
That is actually super styles, normally your opponent doesn't get to know what you tutor for with VT, and while I havn't seen the context vid anyone who told me they did this I would high five. Search for bomb, top of my deck, oh by the way this was what I got, now let me untap and kill you with it.

It was an accident. He was considering Tutoring a mountain to the top so his dreadbore in hand was live, but then realized it'd be way better to just Tutor his Mox Ruby. But he goes "I'll just tutor first WAIT SHIT" while still in the "responding to guide's attack" phase.
Edit: It was also turn 1, so not exactly an untap and kill you position :P (although in a later draft he did nail several turn 2 blightsteel colossi)
it's a really slick solution to the problem of dead edicts/Duresses when your opponent has an empty hand/board.
I guess they could have both an empty hand and no creatures, but unless they're packing a hefty planeswalker or two, you're probably already winning.
It feels more like a card (and cycle, really) that you can maindeck against most strategies but doesn't turn into a dead card when you run into, say, a creatureless control deck. The block already has that in actual cycling but I like these things too.

That's such a weird name. I first read that as "Torrent of Hellfire" but no, both halves of that was wrong.

Lose 3 life or sac or discard is one of those running themes, huh.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

ooooh, are the torments like the Ten Plagues?
Struggle/Survive is interesting... sort of a decent Limited removal stapled to some sideboard graveyard hate?

I will guaranteed run this as at least a one off in my UB control deck that I've been on since Kaladesh.
I'm already agonizing over what to cut from my Mogis deck for it.
