I've heard that he (Comey) lied to the Senate. I'm having trouble finding out more about that, could someone shed details?

Here is the Dep AG's recommendation. It is amazing and you should read it.

So according to the Rosenstein letter, he's being fired in May of 2017, for the Clinton investigation stuff back in July 2016?

Boy that sure is some turnaround time there.

We'll see how long this blog lasts

Comey’s Testimony on Huma Abedin Forwarding Emails Was Inaccurate

The FBI hasn’t decided how to correct the director’s false claim that she forwarded thousands of Clinton emails to the laptop computer of her husband, former Congressman Anthony Weiner.

He stated that there were hundreds to thousands of Hillary emails on Abedin’s laptop and that many were classified at the time.

Every single one of them would have burned the Watergate tapes. From every department down to every mayoral office. Every current-day republican.

Bet you're feeling more than nauseous now, you amazingly stupid... Something that would get me banned.

Comey wasn't going to do anything to hurt Trump anyway, it would have had to come from the CIA or the Senate investigation

My reaction right now is coalescing around "Sessions is weaponizing the DOJ in service of Trump, Trump's corruption, and his oppressive racist ass agenda"

How can Trump use their letters as justification when their stated reasoning is that he poorly handled the emails investigation in a way unfavorable to Clinton while Trump was running on "lock her up" and claiming Comey's decision was wrong because he didn't decide to prosecute?

Hm I kind of disagree. I think he would have followed through in some form on the Russia stuff.

Which of course is out the window now. Whoever takes over the FBI will close that case up nicely, nothing to see here.

Maybe it's a preface to "If Comey hadn't said that no sane prosecutor would pursue this, we'd have her in jail already!"

Some people seem to be excited about this as some sort of comeuppance to Comey and that seems like a fucking insane response

The FBI has multiple ongoing investigations into Russia and Trump camp corruption, and they just fired the FBI director.

That Trump just fired him is the strongest possible argument in favor of Comey actually running a real investigation, and you know that whoever Trump nominates is going to be compromised as fuck.

Nah, he would have cut his own throat before accusing Trump of anything substantial. CIA or special prosecutor could maybe be trusted.

Ridiculous. I hate that this is the answer to everything, but this is the point where your Senators need to get flooded with calls and emails and agitators demanding a special prosecutor.

The letter clearly shows they think the AG should decide whether HRC should be charged.

If they actually go there it's going to mean very bad things for this country.

Trump fired him because he was heading the Russia investigation.

Comey tripping up over Abedin the other day just gave him some semblance of a cover story that I imagine he'd been waiting for.

The irony is I agree that he mishandled the emails case- by making the public statements that he did!

And if he had been let go real Day 1, that would have made sense to me.

The timing on this is so obvious it's blinding.

According to NBC & Tom Winter (NBC's investigations reporter):

This does not seem like a carefully considered, planned decision, regardless of the letters.

I mean, that part is actualy true. The AG should be the one who decides. But the idea that the AG was going to come to another decison was dumb. And he FBI can make reccomendations (which is what Comey was doing). And the actual scandal was the fact that it was said publicly not that it was recommended.

The admin is trying to paint Comey as a Hillary partisan and they're selectively taking the liberal criticism out of context to do so while pushing the idea that sessions might actually charge.
