That would be neat if Thor was good in this game because I enjoyed him in 3 but that was mostly because he had some good shenanigans w/ super skrull
I don't mind returning characters, but I could only get excited about reworked versions of low-tier heroes. Like, let's re-imagine Spidey and Thor, but let's never see Doom or Vergil ever again. Ever.
But breaking your joystick in order to get MAX NUMBERS MAX DAMAGE is the great Marvel Way, True Believer!

All things considered, I wonder how MvC3 and UMvC3 would look today if they had never been patched.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I was super good at mashing buttons way faster than everyone else in the room.
I never broke a controller or anything, but there was one time I looked down and my controller was drenched in blood so...whoops.
I don't even remember what game I was playing when I did that, but I don't think it was a fighting game. I think it was some action game that had mashable QTEs or something. Maybe the first Bayonetta, but I think it was longer ago than when that game came out.
I don't have a right hand, which sucks for any game that wants me to use the right triggers on a controller (which unfortunately is basically all of them if they don't have customizable controls), but it's pretty great for mashing the hell out of the face buttons. The way I hold my arm makes it really easy to hit any face button as quickly as I need to (or combination of buttons, as long as it's not something weird like B+X or something).
I apparently overdid it that one time and tore open the end of my arm without realizing it. The downside of not having the extra padding of a thumb, I guess.

Realistically I don't think the patches would have changed very much for vanilla Marvel compared to the final version. Dante/X/Phoenix would have been the best team, with X being an invincible assist like haggar/tron, probably haggar. Dante was incredibly busted in a game full of busted shit. People going back to vanilla with tech later found in ultimate found that off of a typical starter he could do 1mill without spending bar and build 5 bars in the same combo. His neutral was amazing, hammer was as invincible as bionic arm, etc. Also he had that quicksilver glitch where he straight up froze the game while spamming million stabs at you. Then phoenix uses the meter he builds to become unstoppable since a lot of the anti-phoenix tech only works in ultimate. Zero/X/Phoenix would have been sick too (as flocker showed towards the end of the game), as would Mag/X/Phoenix, but at that point it's just a game of "which insanely dominant and broken point do I play alongside an invincible assist + phoenix". All of those would have probably been true regardless of patches.
I don't think UMvC3 had significant patches so it'd be pretty similar to what we have now.
Also: how strange is it that fuckin' VISCANT won the only Marvel 3 at Evo.

Well, Marvel has its bullshit claws in me. I've got the PC version paid off (had some credit from GMG) so if anyone is wondering what kind of idiot would pay in full for a game that looks half baked at best on a platform known for rushed/shoddy ports: it's me. I'm that kind of idiot.
Hoping to re-live the glory days of MvC3 where I get all hyped to be a social person and get into my local FGC, play online with some of you folks for a month, then get incredibly self-conscious that I am terrible and retreat down the hole of random battles against online strangers for 5 years until the next MvC.
Can't wait!

Same, let's do some games when it comes out and I have a vague idea of what's happening.

damn thats a good game
I need to find a buddy for nemesis
It'll probably be a tossup between allegedly good thor, ultron, mayor, or ghost rider
Doom is my anti-hype. He was on so many MVC3 teams that he faded into the background like a white noise machine.
I would even give him back his ridiculous health from vanilla if it meant never seeing hidden missiles again.
that thing was the cold metal heart of the team

edit: This is a new Cross Tag Battle trailer by the way. The thumbnail doesn't exactly make that clear.
That may be why I'm confused since I've been getting lots of nintendo stuff lately
