Melty Blood Act Cadenza PC: Now with netplay

Sexy.

(stolen from Spoon/Dan) since I'm on the move elsewhere.
Melty Blood Re-ACT: Final Tuned

2d doujin fighting Tsukihime style.

mb1ho7.jpgmb2ed9.jpg

mb3xa2.jpgmb4bk3.jpg
It's a pretty simple game to play with easy inputs for specials and 3 attack buttons. This was designed for pc so it should be playable just fine on keyboard. Supports gamepads as well.

At character select there are 2 control modes for the special functions (throw and heat mode), one designed for PC (keyboard) and one Act Cadenza (Arcade) style.

This is the final PC release and is fairly similar to the PS2/Arcade version (Act Cadenza). Not the greatest or most varied game ever made but it still plays like a fairly modern competent 2d fighter.

If anyone has this and wants to try out the netplay I'll give it a go.

And I'll take on any comers in netplay as well. Yarr.

As the resident (hardly posting) Type-Moon tard, I'd say just wait for Re-Act Final Tuned's patch. It has an arcade mode (with more little story bits. but not much) and tweaked out balanced gameplay.

Ah, MB...being a TM nerd I totally dug on it. Though the fact people who have no idea what tsukihime is play it and try to talk like they know the plot bugs and amuses me.

Once got into a fight with a guy who tried to tell me Nanaya is Shiki's "evil twin", and Wild Arc was Arcueid possessed by Nanaya's spirit...hahaha

I'm not paying import prices. Not in the 21st Century. They need to put that shit on Xbox Live Marketplace. And Touhou too. Melty Blood can have online play, and Touhou can have live scoreboards.

Of course, this day will never come because:
Next gen consoles aren't going to be hosting any flat out 2d games. At least I know Sony sure as fuck won't (THANKS FOR NOT PORTING GGXX/, ASSHOLES >:{ ) and I'm sure Xbox is the same.

Also, people here have no idea what Tsukihime is, aside from small amount (in overall target audience) of people.

As for Touhou, crazy ass japanese curtain hellfire shooter type games with moe moe girls wouldn't really draw much of a crowd here, either

Seriously. With so many US indie developers using digital distribution of some sort, you'd think that doujin software makers would be all over not having to cart their inventory to conventions and stuff (though it still would be cool to do it for the cons and stuff, but no longer a necessity).

I was quite happy when I came across an online store that did do digital distribution of some doujin stuff, but there really needs to be more.

How much would it cost to have content put up on Live Arcade anyway? The target audience may be small but it's definately there. I don't see ZUN having too many complaints with more foreigners buying instead of pirating his games due to short/expensive supply either. Same for Melty Blood.

With a boss hack patch And then it's the broken ass MB:RAFT version (which also enables Executioner Ciel with the 7th Holy Scripture, Aoko (broken MB:RAFT version), and Giant Akiha). The nerfed actually playable (and non-hax'd) version is only in Act Cadenza.

EDIT: Melty Blood comes from the name of one of Arcueid's techniques. That glowy red energy? Yeah, thats "Melty Blood"

Also, the rape thing in Tsukihime... Sure, there's situations where it can happen, but if you do it...you definately don't get away with it.

My point being the title actually makes lot of sense when given the context of the game. Melty Blood isn't coherent English at all.

Very cool sounding, but not grammatically correct.

Edit: I should also note that Melty Blood Act Cadenza Ver B. is coming to PC soon. How soon eludes me (June?), but definately this year. I am eagery awaiting new moves for Ciel and Aoko.

Technically she's just a...cat. Really. GREAT CAT'S KINGDOM. Some bunk ass crackpot thing made by Nasu for kicks. Later on they made a Nrvnqsr version of Neko Arc for the PS2 release of MB:AC, and since then various fanarts of neko chars (as in actual Neko Arc style, not them with just ears) popped up. I don't have it anymore but there was a pretty funny one of Neko Nanaya.

EDIT: Also, of cours Melty Blood isn't proper, correct. Nasu's english is pretty bad (and it's been a running joke of sorts). The VS screen alone shows that with "Save Prayer the player, dance romanesque and unfinished romanica"

Plus the whole "Blue blue glass moon, Under the crimson air" tag for Tsukihime.

There's a hack for Neko Arc in Final Tuned. Using her has a tendency to glitch things and crash. Same with Giant Akiha.

And part of the reason it took so long to translate is because the story mode script is looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong. Like, short visual novel length long.
