You can get the whites of your eyes tattooed but I'm not sure about the iris.

It's more like dyeing your eyeball than tattooing it, but yeah, it can be done.

That is extremely disappointing. I can't believe Mignola would sign off on that.

I got my moviepass card today. The app says no theatres found whenever I look it up. I was told that I had to activate the card. I had to do it through a desktop because I couldn't do it through the app. App still says no available theatres no matter what zip code I use. I contact support and apparently got a reply. I clicked onto the notification and it took me to the section in the app where you write the support message.

Really fucking disappointed right now. I don't know what the deal is but this shit is broke for me right now. Boohiss

That doesn't sound like the kinda thing he would typically control in a movie contract deal.

He could very easily say "Ed Skrein is a talented actor but I am disappointed that a Japanese-American man like Ben Daimio is being played by a white man."

That doesn't insult Skrein at all and addresses the issue

Not saying anything isn't being polite

So it turns out that the American Lit course I'm taking this semester is actually a Film Noir course, where the syllabus is literally just a list of 15 movies, all from pre 1955.

I am very, very, down for this.

It's like if a character is anything lighter than an arbitrary shade of brown, it's open season for white actors to play them.

Maybe he will say that. Maybe he hasn't done it yet, and didn't feel like that was the right time. It's super easy to shit on the decisions of public figures who have to put a lot of thought into the ramifications of what they might say.

Mignola is heavily involved with the production and has said in interviews that he is actively a part of this film unlike the last 2 and has been commenting on every piece of news

If he is saying nothing but HAPPY TO HAVE YOU HERE, that's his stance on the subject

And I don't know why we have to give him the benefit of the doubt on a hypothetical future statement that he has given no indication of making

I don't know, fuck it, I don't like Ed Skrein or Mike Mignola and have no interest in this movie so I guess I'll stop taking side bets in races that I have not entered a dog into.

  • BlankZoeBlankZoe Registered User regular
It seems like a perfectly valid response to say "man I am really disappointed in Mignola".

No one is, like, fucking calling for his head or burning their Hellboy books. It's surprising given he created the character and he made a public statement on the film, that he's actually involved with, and didn't address it.

I'm not getting rid of my Hellboy comics over this, but it is pretty disappointing and I don't think it's overreacting to say that!
