    Good superhero romance rules.

But that would put heroes in a positive light, and we can't have that.

    Why is it trrrue

I can't wait for Jean to come back so a bunch of writers can write scenes where all the characters compare her to crazy evil Emma and declare that Emma always sucked.

Are there any married couples left standing in the Marvel U?

Like Sue and Reed (but they're no longer around) and Jessica and Luke are the only two major ones I can think of, and something tells me Marvels' writers are going to be gunning for Jessica and Luke here pretty soon.

I dunno what it's going to take for me to start buying comics again but Secret Empire and Legacy have combined to make me totally uninterested in anything happening right now.

Well if you want to give DC another chance.... Clark and Lois over at DC have a great relationship right now. One issue of Superman was mostly about them taking Jon to the local fair and having some fun!

If you dig X-Men its been pretty good as a group since the relaunch. X-Men Blue is much wackier than I was expecting, but overall very good with some light romance stuff. X-Men Gold is much better than I thought it would be with interesting arcs tying back to things happening in reality to the mutant metaphor and with romance stuff in the A and B plots. All New Wolverine is a phenomenal book about dealing with trauma, healing wounds, facing your past, kick-ass (literal) wolverines, found family, and has the continued steady relationship of Warren and Laura (with my favorite two relationship couple scenes happening in issue 1 and issue 18 as a callback). Generation X started kind of weak but is full of fun teen hijinks and emotions and bonding, but most romance stuff has been in the awkward feeling out stages of maybe relationship, maybe friendship. I'm not reading Astonishing X-Men, but I've heard its real good (I'm at my max comics I'll allow myself to read right now). Old Man Logan I also do not read. Jean Grey is a great look at young Jean Grey, seeing how she responds to the world and the returning Phoenix, couched in her going to different places and being mentored by very different people (Colossus, Magik, Rachel Grey, Hope Summers, Thor, Doctor Strange, Psylocke, etc.). Iceman is a wonderful book looking at how adult Bobby Drakes navigates the world and trying to find out who he is now that he has come out as gay.

Iron First is the first super hero who looks like he will cry when a balloon is popped near him. The Meechims were garbage and only David yukking it up as evil dad made that remotely watchable. Coleen was a STRONG FEMALE CHARACTERS who falls in love with an idiot and her master is the world's most intimidating Yoga instructor.

I think the meachums are only great in the context of a dire TV series. Given time, I barely remember them while I still remember the Punisher.

I think Tom Pelphrey turned in an absolutely amazing performance as Ward Meachum, and single-handedly made that show worth watching.

Hahahahaha holy shit the finale of Secret Empire
The majority of the issue is Steve and Nazi Steve having an extended debate that is very obviously Spencer arguing with his critics, with the final comments being Steve saying that now America knows not to put too much trust into any one person and Nazi Steve saying that there are more Americans like him than Steve out there and that when things get rough again they'll remember how it was when he was in charge and want that stability back.

Then the final page has the guards push Nazi Steve up against his cell wall as Steve departs,
With one of the guards whispering "Hail Hydra" to him and the final panel is Nazi Steve smiling

    That

Might honestly be the worst ending I could have made up

They are, slowly, reintroducing the idea of them as a couple. They also very strongly show that a) in Wakanda, once a queen, kinda always a queen, at least in the eyes of Wakandans; and b) the people really still love her and want her to be there. She and T'Challa are taking it slow in terms of a relationship - they have feelings for each other but neither wants to rush into a relationship - but it's slightly more complicated since it's a mix of love and duty.

They haven't given a shit before. Why would they now?

The absolute most that'll happen is there will be corporate pressure to get sales up. That's it. Disney hasn't shown any other interest in policing Marvel's business, at least not where the public has seen, and if they didn't get involved while the SE controversy was at its peak they're definitely not going to do anything now that it's over.

It won't get better until, at the very least, the sales and distribution model changes because even if sales go down the way the current system is structured they're left literally guessing

    Nick Spencer, look.

You know that scene in Avengers 1, right, where Loki commands everyone kneel before him and gives the big speech about how people secretly want to be controlled because it's so much easier? And the one dude stands up and tells him he won't, that his ideas are wrong? The whole, "You've never seen anyone like me." "There's always someone like you." exchange?

That scene is one of the iconic moments in that movie. That is the core of Captain America's viewpoint in a nutshell.

That scene would have been utterly ruined if someone were to whisper "but what if he's right?"

Nick Spencer, you have effectively ruined what Cap stands for. You have taken an iconic man, and an iconic moment, and added a "well actually" bit to it.

Let me please keep my Hawkeyes in one title (I accept if Tales of Suspense is a side-title.)

Quiet week for me, I quit Captain Marvel (I like the character and the creative team has potential, but none of them seem to know what they want to do with Carol), so it's just Mage for me this week (oh and Adventures of Hel #2, but that's European comics).

Personally I want Clint to be just a guest in Kate's story. The whole point of Kate's book is her wanting to establish her own identity as Hawkeye and if she has to share the spotlight she can't do that.
