Perry Bible Fellowship: Of Calvin and Hobbes magnitude

I'm not the biggest fan of comic strips. Of course, Bloom County, C&H, and The Far Side have always resided deep within my soul, and will always do so.
And now, we've got another classic in the making, available freely on the intertrons, and I dare say it may be as good (if not better) than the previous 3 I mentioned. Bask in the gloriousness you may have missed:
In the making? It's been around for years, hasn't it?
But yes, PBF.

I submitted an entry to Lego Ideas, and if 10,000 people support me, it'll be turned into an actual Lego set!If you'd like to see and support my submission, follow this link.
Hint: You "discovering" PBF is like Columbus "discovering" America... it's been around for, and people have known about it for, years.
And while it is awesome, it will never be as good as C and H... that's my opinion, but it's a pretty strong one.

'Fuck yeah, me too. What little kid ever pretended to be part of the lynch-mob?'
PBF is good, yes, but I mean come the fuck on it's no goddamn Bloom County.
One of the free weeklies here publishes it, too, which ends up in me seeing it more often than I do on the internet. It's pretty nice. It should be actually published in more places.
hey guys I heard of this awesome web comic called penny arcade it's like dilbert but funnier you should all check it out at http://www.penny-arcade.com

That cooties one is hysterical. As much as I like the "disturbing" PBFs, the cute ones are my favorites. Lord Gloom is another fav that someone already posted, but Satan's Hell is also awesome.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

Work on the book is still taxing my time, so there probably won't be a new comic this week. The good news is: The Trial of Colonel Sweeto And Other Stories will have one of those nifty built-in ribbon book marks. It's a hardcover book with a good price, and it will be available when summer is over.

I like PBF a lot, but I wouldn't say it's better than those three.
Yeah, same here.
C&H was just sublime. No contemporary comic strips even remotely touch it.
Sinfest and XKCD occasionally use similar themes as C&H, but XKCD is nowhere near the quality and Sinfest just tries too hard.

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

I like Perry Bible Fellowship more than Calvin and Hobbes: Calvin and Hobbes is funny and sweet, but Perry Bible Fellowship is hilarious. Though I can't help but think that some of it's best strips are already behind it.
I still love the comic, but it's more of a "forget to read it and then find you have four new ones" kind of comic to me now. It's posted with such irregularity, or at least it was a short time ago, that I was consistently disappointed when clicking on my PBF link.
I, too, have loved PBF for several years now. I believe I originally found it via a thread here, if I recall correctly.
I wouldn't say it's better than The Far Side, but it's certainly on the same level of hilarity. I'll always have a soft spot for Far Side's extreme nerdiness, though....I just wrapped up a course in human evolution that featured at least 3-4 slides of topical Far Side comics in every lecture.

Also, that's old. Where are the vultures and the nuns?
But yes, PBF.
I had no idea PBF had been spread here as well.
Also, it's not sitewhoring... at least I hope not. It's moreso brilliance whoring, and I'd hope that would be ok.
And while it is awesome, it will never be as good as C and H... that's my opinion, but it's a pretty strong one.
I lol'd.
That's a classic. The first I saw, I believe.
It's last week's.
Also:
I saw one in the Guardian once that I loved.
Anyone thinking of buying the prints: They're huge, on thick, glossy paper and look really good. Well worth it if you're a fan.

Yeah, the last panel is just about perfect.

Shinto: I don't think he's done enough strips to warrant a book yet.

I wouldn't put it on quote that level either. That said...
Awesomesauce.

Red Meat comes in second.
It's still brilliant, though.

Another great contemporary comic that routinely succeeds in cracking me up is Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.
