I really hate that I am forced to choose between a Final Fantasy Tactics with a good translation, or a Final Fantasy Tactics that doesn't play like dog shit.
A2 exists!
Advance 2 is good besides the traps which were the worst
And the having more races than team spots thing
And the whole MP start at 0 crap. It's... kind of dumb when mid-tier stuff already takes more than a turn between shots - a lot of magic classes just become "chug ethers".
The added races over FFTA were kind of poorly implemented overall with only having four jobs each. It's especially annoying on Gria, since their synergy between jobs is basically "the two sword jobs work well together"... then... you have a magic job and a ranged job, and with weapon requirements for moves between sword jobs and ranged job... it doesn't mesh well.
it should have been a perfect literal replication of the move in the 2D metroids but with you locked into first person
just force you to watch the world spinning like a slot machine reel
I got the last Keybearer lore, and I have 5 (6?) of the keys I need. I just need to find the ones in Torvus Bog and then the last one on the Temple Grounds.
I also hit 75% item collection, which gives me the second best ending. So. Good enough!

Oh you'll never see the ending.
The last boss is basically an actual level of hell.

unless he's playing the gamecube version, they toned down the last boss along with a lot of the other problem bosses in the ports

People keep saying this but I dont think its true. My ammo issues persisted and the last boss was still a pile of unfun shit so I just stopped playing.

I didn't think Emperor Ing was a terrible boss, but I wasn't a huge fan of the fight either. I much preferred the final bosses of Metroid Primes 1 and 3.
Oh wait I thought we were talking about donkey Kong
Never mind
That last boss is also bad.
I like that one
It's a very long fight that moves slowly and requires a lot of waiting around. When I spent half an hour trying to beat it and had gotten only like 6 or 7 attempts in I realized I wasn't having fun and it wasn't worth my time. It's a real shame too because I liked the game a lot
I beat the boost Guardian on the Gamecube back in the day but never made it this far
I'm not worried about not being able to beat it

I will always return to Gamecube controllers whenever they let me
I find it slightly hilarious that Smash is basically keeping that controller around in some fashion in perpetuity.
I was wondering how they were gonna work it in for the Switch, having it be an actual, functional controller is nice.
Hope they aren’t rare as shit.

Echoes is in general just a messy game, it has weird difficulty spikes and upgrades you barely use and multiplayer for some reason
But i dunno, it gives it a weird quality that makes me have affection for it even if it is undoubtedly the hardest of the Prime games to go through on a replay and probably the worst of them
Yes the Echo visor is worthless and i'll never use the Sonicboom beam combo but i want to like them, y'know?

emperor ing was so annoying that the first time I died against him, I put the game down for something like two years
there's one extremely obtuse phase of the fight and like many of the bossfights in the prime series it is just too long even if you execute well
I'm enjoying all the bosses in Echoes quite a lot, which is an interesting contrast coming off of Super where I think the boss design is generally pretty hinky. We'll see how I feel about the dang old Emperor when I finally meet him!
And yeah, Echoes has an uneven quality to it that the first Prime (and also Corruption) absolutely did not have, but that's OK. A lot of the things it does, like the light world/dark world mechanic, are really neat. Hell, I think it's handling the Light/Dark world thing better than any Zelda game ever has, by far. And I like the Echo Visor, it's visually just very cool. And finding the keys makes me feel like a detective!
It's a little shaky but I think Echoes is genuinely great. Hopefully that impression holds through to the end.

I agree! The last boss of Tropical Freeze is really fun, it's just very long like all the other bosses in that game and also very hard. It has very little downtime, though, which makes it much better than its peers to me.

The Sonicboom is never the correct option but it is ALWAYS the funny one.

there are definitely a lot of Metroid items whose usability hinges on "it's cool" and I'm completely fine with that

It's attached to a wii u
That shouldn't be. Those controllers are wireless
This game's Screw Attack is bad. But that's the only genuinely bad thing so far, I think
I'm having a lot of fun running around Aether
Went and made my joke into an actual video. lol

it's so iconic! but it just doesn't work in 3D.
also doesn't work in 3D: space jump
just force you to watch the world spinning like a slot machine reel
How they actually implemented it was 100% better
You made some of those up.
DKC TF is balls hard even with funky
been stuck on the fourth boss for two days now
