    Fuck

I saw an article talking about the Krasinski/Blunt Fantastic Four fan casting

And it proposed the best goddamn Thing casting I never thought of

    John Cena

I was under the impression that the Jewish religious identity was greatly tied up in the Jewish ethnicity.

But regardless, I feel like, especially in this day and age, it would be great if the actor who played Ben Grimm (one of the greatest and most proudly Jewish Lee/Kirby creations) was an ethnic Jew

I actually think Lakeith would make a really interesting Richards.

Especially if it's a Richards based more on the Ultimate FF - make him a little spacier, a little more aware of how much his powers are changing him.

I started reading The Oracle Year, Charles Soule's first novel, and it's pretty dang good as of about 100 pages in.

It's about a 20something unemployed bassist who wakes up one day from a dream and had 108 completely accurate predictions of events that will occur in the future.

He and his Wall Street accountant buddy attempt to get rich off of it while remaining anonymous, meanwhile everyone from the FBI to a rich Televangelist preacher to an intrepid reporter for NotBuzzfeed are trying to hunt him down and expose his identity.

It's pretty original, has a good sense of humor and solid grasp of its characters while also putting on a compelling plot.

MCU Rewatch Part 4 Supplemental: The Consultant One-Shot
-Hey, we have this bumpy bit of continuity between Incredible Hulk and the Avengers, how do we fix it? I know, we’ll just film Coulson talking to Sitwell in a diner.
-Level 6/Level 7 being major things in this and early Agents of SHIELD is kind of weird given Cap himself is an 8 and I think Fury is like a 10?
-WSC wants Blonsky on the Avengers. Kinda funny when they retconned one of those guys as being a Hydra agent in Agents of SHIELD.
-Likewise, Sitwell turning out to be Hydra maybe contextualizes him wanting to be “The patsy” would instead allow him to successfully acquire Blonsky from Ross.

MCU Rewatch Part 5 Supplemental: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer One Shot
-Coulson could have totally taken these guys unawares, but toys with them instead (maybe to take their attention off the cashier?)
-I wonder where the idea for this short comes from. Unless they just wanted to film more stuff with Clark Gregg after they shot the Avengers.

I forget who said it but I recall a critic talking about how part of the reason Marvel succeeds is that any contradictions just make the world mire interesting. Why did Hydra want Blonksy on the avengers but the question is interesting enough.

It turns out the real soulstone was the friends we made along the way.

Which was kind of shitty because the interstellar travel alone cost several trillion dollars and hocking the stone was supposed to offset that.

On the first poster for Infinity War we get to see the order. They've been removed in more recent promo stuff, but otherwise consistent among toys and stuff.
Power, Space, Reality, Soul, Time and Mind is the last one, pride of place in the centre of the Gauntlet. Vision is the endgame. :<

So some movie structure speculation, assuming that order isn't total bullshit.
he grabs Power off Xandar in the prologue, Space when he attacks Thor, gets Soul from Heimdall's eyes but it is rendered inert. Goes to get Reality but the Collector has lost it... to Nebula. Who set a trap on Titan for him. Goes to get it there, kills her or Gamora, activating the Soul Stone. He can also get Time from Strange at this point too. Then he teleports to Wakanda for the big final battle.

    MCU Rewatch Part 5: Thor
-They don’t ever explain what the atmospheric phenomena that Jane is studying actually are, do they? Like, the suggestion is that it’s the Bifrost stuff, but that stuff seems more up to the whims of the Asgardians and not any specific predictable schedule like Jane says she is observing.
-The big frost giant battle appears to have happened in the same place as where Red Skull found the tesseract. Did Odin have it hidden there already (and maybe that’s why the frost giants attacked?) Though you’d think Odin would have moved it in that case since if the Frost Giants knew it was there, it wasn’t safe.
-Odin loses his eye in this war.. But Hela remembered him with one eye. I forget if the relief on the ceiling of Hela also had Odin with one eye. Does this mean she was still at this side during this war. In which case, maybe Asgard started it? Or was Odin wanting peace with Yotunhiem what lead to Hela finally turning on him.
-Odin looks way younger when he’s with his kids.. How old were Loki and Thor by the time this movie happens?
-Ha. The Eternal Flame is in Odin’s treasure room.
-It’s weird that Odin never replaces the Destroyer. Especially after the Tesseract is stored there.
-Gotta love the way Loki just oozes out from behind a pillar when he comes to “console” thor.
-Weird that Asgard would “scoff at the idea that a young maiden could be one of the fiercest warriors in asgard” given the Valkyries existed.
-There’s a pitch to Thor’s voice that comes out sometimes that I don’t think is heard in the other films. Hemsworth still learning to deal with an American accent maybe?
-I like how Loki and this random frost giant share a moment of “Wait, wtf?” when Loki discovers he’s a Yotun.
-It’s a pretty good encapsulation of how much of a douche Thor is right now that when he friends finally have to retreat, his response isn’t “I’ll be right behind you” or “I’ll cover you” it’s “Then GO!” and he keeps right on fighting like he doesn’t give a shit.
-What the fuck is the geology of this planet? Like, is it entirely covered in an ice shell that has giant chasms beneath it? Seems like one big earthquake (Or hammer wielding asgardian) would fuck it all up.
-Thor just one-shotting this giant monster is kind of disappointing.
-Everything just fucking collapsed. How the hell did just army of Frost Giants get here this fast?
-Cracks me up that the frost giants all basically run around in ragged shorts.
-Odin just fucking hucks this sword as Heimdall like it’s nothing. It’s pretty great.
-I wonder what Loki was about to say before he got cut off. Was he going to sell Thor even further down the river, Or was he genuinely going to come to Thor’s defense seeing shit was about to get out of hand.
-I just realized that Thor’s hammer got wrecked with pretty much only Vision (and a tiny bit Steve) ever getting to use it.
-For being the god of Thunder, he sure gets taken out frequently by getting zapped
-I like how Jane instantly recognizes visual elements of the “Einstein-Rosen bridge” without anyone on earth ever actually seeing one.
-A lot of people say Ragnarok really leaned into the humor, but this movie is silly as hell.
-I feel like the real tragedy of Loki is that had Odin not fallen into the sleep, he would have been able to talk things out with Loki. We see his entire plan for the rest of the movie is to do something that proves he’s worthy of the throne and his father’s love. Odin likely could have nipped that in the bud.
-It always weirds me out that Thor refers to Jane and Erik by their full names, but just calls Darcy “Darcy”. Does she not have a last name?
-Banner and Selvig, despite knowing each other, never got an on-screen meet and greet, did they?
-I just remembered Selvig’s guy who knew SHIELD was supposed to be Hank Pym, but it got cut since Ant-Man was still in development limbo. Shame, as it would have made a ton of sense given how Ant-Man wound up shaking out.
-I wonder if Thor just felt the storm coming (Which would be a nice setup for the “the power was within you all along) or if Thor being in proximity to Mjolnir caused a storm to happen.
-Selvig is way to happy yelling out ‘STEROIDS!”
-It’s only touched on a moment, but the Warriors 3 are worried that “Heimdall might be watching.” Man, Asgard is totally a surveillance state, isn’t it.
-Man, now there’s coffee all over the dashboard of this nice car. Fuckin’ SHIELD.
-I feel like normal human characters in the MCU take the kinds of hits that Thor takes from the destroyer and don’t die from it. (Though they get pretty messed up.)
-Wait, why does anyone think Heimdall was in a position to open the Bifrost when the most recent thing to come through was the Destroyer on a mission to kill everyone.
-I feel like Thor should have tried hitting the Bifrost chamber with a lightning bolt first, to see if it would work.
-Is there a big weird storm on Earth EVERY time someone uses the Bifrost? Or just when it’s set to overload.
-Selvig referring to the New Mexico stuff as “Unprecedented” is a little weird given that in order for Thor and co to become Earth legends, they would have had to actually come to Earth at some point.
