Case in point: I've wanted to try Pathfinder forever. Anyone else feel like noobing it up with me?

The expo hall is mostly demo-land. It's cool to explore and walk through at least once, but a lot of it you can see on your own time, if the lines don't appeal to you.
The panels are listed on the app's schedule. They're creatively inspiring and sometimes have very useful information. You can meet like-minded people in the lines sometimes. There are more than you can see, though, so be sure to rest, eat, and prioritise what matters most!
Events/activities -- there are a dizzying amount of them, and I'm still learning about them all. PAX XP scavenger hunts, pin collecting, Omegathon, and of course freeplay! Console, PC, board games -- plop down, meet people, learn a new game or enjoy a familiar one.
There are also many community things you can keep an eye out for, and who knows what else you might find on your own. Today I'll be trying out Steel Battalion in the classic console area, an old game where you use a gigantic cockpit like controller to control a giant mech. It ain't listed on the map!
I'm expecting it to behave like NY comic con, which i love. unplugged was my first and that was so awesome

I think you brushed on it but I want to emphasize something...if you love tabletop games or card games there’s SOOOOOOO many new and old ones to check out. There’s an entire magic the gathering section, some creative games (I bought this organ transplant card game), learned about a new game that i’m Excited and anticipating (serial thrillers — soon to be on Kickstarter), human era (currently on Kickstarter), and learned and also bought master of wills. There are soooo many more I wish I could have demo’d today but the expo hall closes at 6pm. Tabletop/freeplay areas stay open til midnight. If you’re a tournament player there’s an endless list of tournaments to join such as Pubg, virtual reality, MtG, etc...!!!!)
Also I should've put this up top, but you can Discord me at Grey#2016 or DM me here for a phone number, and we'll get you mingling in no time! One of these days I should set up Twitter. It's huge at PAX.
