10 years ago something happened at the end of a pretty decent comic book film about a C or B list character that the public hadn't really heard of before.

At the time it seemed like a cute little throwaway for fans of the comics or people that had watched a bunch of the Fox Kids cartoons when they were wee little sprogs.
But the thing was, Marvel actually meant it, so four years later in 2012, after another Iron Man, a fantastic Captain America, a greatly enjoyable introduction to Thor and the final solo outing for the Hulk, what seemed like a hopelessly ambitious hail mary that any sane movie studio would dismiss as nigh on impossible actually came together.

That shot wouldn't be equalled in terms of holy shit they pulled it off until Star Wars returned a few years later. It lit a fire in the cash registers of almost every other film studio, all of whom began to chase the new hotness that was a shared cinematic universe. None of them got that close and most imploded after a single picture (RIP Dark Universe). Now, after 6 years spent building up the rest of the pieces with 12(!) more films, everything is coming together again and it looks like Marvel Studios is going to recreate that feeling once more for the victory lap.
The gang's all (mostly) here! Even Spider-Man, who seemed to be forever doomed to the endless cycle of reboots at
Sisyphean Sony Pictures.

Reviews are being held until very late due to wanting to keep the story under wraps, to the extent that at the time of posting, only a handful of people will have seen the finished film in its entirety. There's even been a plea from the production team.
The Première was in LA on Monday night with press screenings, hot takes and probably spoiler-filled SURPRISE TWIST/CAMEO/PLOTPOINT headlines to follow, so beware the internet from that point. The film releases on Friday, or Thursday, depending on the machinations of the villain known as The International Date Line (Or maybe Wednesday in The Netherlands apparently? I don't know, it's all getting a bit Boxing Day Sales on Christmas Eve).
Tag your spoilers and commiserate with your fellow posters on the loss of your favourite Avenger because there's good odds that the whole team isn't getting out alive.
Who will win?

PSN- AHermano
Was he more powerful than the average member of his race? Or are they all super powerful?
We can only hope
no, i don't believe just any of his people could manage that. he was the kreem of the crop
PSN- AHermano
those are quite some accusations, hermano
He makes me laugh and seems like a good bloke, I hope he's the main character
PSN- AHermano
Just passing on some stuff I've heard man, not accusing anyone
PSN- AHermano
which seems unprecedented, even Star Wars wasn't this all in
How many folks are going to tweet spoilers with that hashtag?
Why would you even need a hashtag if your message "stay off social media"?
The blood doping was pretty obvious.
That bad guy in GotG doesn't feel very threatenening, also Ronan's costume was pretty bad, I think. It looked so rubbery. Had GotG running in the background recently. It does not hold up on repeat viewings.
I just want everyone to know that I love you and I'll see you all in hell!
It’s great that they have these earlier showings, because now we can see it as early as possible and I’m also not a bad parent for keeping him out late on a school night. (There are still several other reasons why I’m a bad parent, don’t worry)
I've had my ticket sat in my wallet for a while now, Thursday lunchtime (gawdblessya timezones) so I should be relatively safe from spoilers I hope. Also relatively safe from a ram-packed cinema screen, hurrah for all the kids being stuck in school :hydra:
7 PM midnight releases are the best innovation of the last few years.
That's what I took from the movie and I consider that canon but there is a deleted scene in which it states that he has celestial blood in his ancestry which was probably the intended reason based on GotG2.

Why was Ronan's hammer this powerful
It's like an elevator being able to lift Thor's hammer
Only 36 hours to go!
Edit: wait, no, 50-something. 58, something like that.

Also good to know it premieres tonight, now I know when to forego the entire internet.
Thanos is the main character and it feels like a part one.
Ahahahaha somehow the tweet in this image was used by both Hollywood Reporter AND Variety. I think both have realized it and pulled it but it’s still amazing.
I think I'm actually starting to hate the theater experience.
If they could just start releasing movies straight to streaming, that'd be ideal. I'd even pay a premium.
Fuck IMAX, I'll take my living room.
Welcome to enlightenment. We are still few and curmudgeonly, but we will eventually win.
Including:
A butt plug what looks like an arc reactor is in your ass
Moan-lir, it's like Mjolnir but the handle is a dildo
An upsettingly large green dildo
And
The Infinity Fist
Good work, internet
So I'm done with reading impressions now and will wait until Saturday. Looking forward to it.
The genres are wildly different but I always think about how the skillset they learned from working on that show is perfect for what they're doing now.
...
they already made what’s going to be one of the biggest movies in history
how much more can they blow up?
They know they're hot shit right now and are absolutely making the most of it
the level beyond directing infinity war is known as the "charlton heston's ape-induced aha! eulogy breakdown" tier
