I'm still sad that the orchestral version of the 60's Spider-Man theme is only used like ONCE in Homecoming and is not in fact the theme for Spider-Man in all situations going forward
The actual main theme isn't bad but c'moooooooooooon
Yeah this really genuinely bothered me. It's my one sticking point with Homecoming as a movie
They use it once, almost as a joke, even though it's the fucking best sound in that entire movie
I really enjoy Danny Elfman's work on the original Spider-Man trilogy as well, I think that theme is actually pretty memorable (though it has a bit of a build to it) but that 60's Spider-Man tune sounds good orchestrated, it's catchy, it's upbeat, it's everything you want a sound associated with that character to be
And it's just a gag! Like come on, you had it, it was right there
I really do wish someone would take control of the MCU's score as a whole. It would really benefit from some Howard Shore style leitmotifs for each character beyond just "Avengers Theme"

They've been trying... a little bit. The Iron Man 3 theme showed up as a little motif during the Hulkbuster scene in AoU, and Thor Ragnarok recycled a few cues from his first two movies in good n' meaningful ways. I think they might have even called back to The Incredible Hulk soundtrack during the arena scene, but to verify would mean exposure to The Incredible Hulk, so we may never know for sure.
The Iron Man theme isn't Iron Man by Black Sabbath?
Back in Black plays during the beginning of Iron Man 1, the middle of Iron Man 2, as well as when he makes his entrance in Germany in the first Avengers movie.
I notice the music so infrequently, unless it’s a popular song that’s been on the radio at some point. If it’s just a score I can almost guarantee I’ll never recognize it again if it’s played in another movie.
We really reched the stage of overexplaining everything with this movie. The Russos have an interview with HuffPo about which minor sidecharacters from other movies are dead or alive after IW.
Before following any advice, opinions, or thoughts I may have expressed in the above post, be warned: I found Keven Costners "Waterworld" to be a very entertaining film.

I've found the majority of the MCU movies had pretty specific musical themes that I could readily identify if I heard them anywhere else.
Loki's in the movie, but it's part of the Avengers 1 flashback/time travel portion as he's in his End of Avengers Hannibal Lecter chains and muzzle.
Tony is also in the scenes, but in a standard SHIELD uniform (as well as a different outfit that's just a plain hoodie with a bunch of mo cap dots on it).
Which has a lot of people speculating Tony goes back and disguises himself as a SHIELD agent.

If they successfully pull off this kind of story I will LOVE it.

Hopes for this kind of story:
Tony goes for broke right off the bat, Kills Thanos before he gets going. Flashback to the future and there are no Guardians so Ego consumed the universe. Tony goes back again and stops himself before he finishes Thanos off, that’s how Thanos knows Stark on Titan.
We see a bunch of failed futures and alternate pasts traveling through every MCU movie until we finally end up right where we started except Thor aims for the head and events in New York were changed enough that the Time Stone never left Earth and Vision didn’t get shanked at the beginning of the movie.
The sheer number of possibilities for how A4 could play out is staggering. I feel like I want a different one every day.

I've only seen this once, and I have a question about the end
Are the gems supposed to be broken after Thanos uses them? Like they were all used up?

Time travel / time shenanigans seems to be the expectation, and it's kind of interesting that Cumberbatch has talked about seeing the script earlier than other cast members / seeing a full script that others weren't allowed to see. That's a fairly typical kind of "we'll show you some stuff so you can understand your character arc" silliness, which seems to match up with Strange playing a major role, beyond what we saw on the surface.

I'm fine with A4 focusing on the original Avengers because it's the big finale for most of them so getting a farewell with Steve, Tony, Thor, Nat, Bruce and Clint is something I'm down with.

don't take my Thor from me
his movies just hit the point of maximum fun and I want more Valkyrie in my life
While I understand the Tony fatigue, I’d like him end his character arc by finally having a movie where he gets to be a Big Damn Hero instead of a well-meaning fuckup. As long as I can get that, I’m fine with him never appearing ever again.
Well that sucks. Relative to what I time had turned into a pretty cool callback to Iron Man 1 in my head, I mean. Still a great moment.
well, it's the music in the (actually not the cold open whatever) opening to Iron Man 2, which is what's being called back (right down to widow looking exasperated)
Eat it You Nasty Pig. on
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
I feel like Thor is in a great place for more movies
The last errant God-King of lost Asgard, travelling the cosmos righting wrongs and slaying evil.
Like shit put the remaining Asgardians on a world-ship and basically crib from Beta Ray Bill, he's already got Stormbreaker. Wonder if that's the plan actually, seems legit.

Ok, I guess that's what I'm thinking about
I'm still so pissed off that they chose to end IW by killing all the new guard.
All of these ideas sound like they'd be great if characters I actually liked were involved!
But instead it's gotta be Tony fuckin' Stark.
Every movie since Avengers has been "Maybe this is the end of Tony Stark" and I'm sick of falling for it.
his movies just hit the point of maximum fun and I want more Valkyrie in my life
