Unplugged 2018 Hotel Partners

Are you as late with getting a hotel as I was with making this post? Never fear! The hotel partner website is here: https://compass.onpeak.com/e/012604500/0

The hotel situation in Philly near the convention center is pretty great! Lots of very close options.

Last year I chose my own hotel, and didn't go through OnPeak. The partner website doesn't let you choose your room type, only the number of beds. I'm guessing it's always the most basic room that hotel offers?

I think it depends on the hotel? But generally yeah, if you pick single bed or multiple bed, and then select the occupancy, you will get a room that will fit those things. Last year, the OnPeak prices weren't *that* much better than the direct book prices, but the advantage of going through the hotel partner is that you're less likely to get booted to a different hotel if the hotel overbooks.

For paxen like east and west, the price break is SO MUCH that it's almost always better to book through the hotel partner.

It's still a better price though, I've played hotel.com hotel room roulette before and gotten "lucky" which is to say got a clean enough hotel room that was a short cab ride away for east, at a rock bottom rate (60 bucks a night), but after that OnPeak was the light. This year we got a room that was last year 180 bones a night for about 130 a night, which is a pretty good drop.

If you're really on a tight budget you can get a hotel room in New Jersey that is cheap but it's a 15 minute drive. There's a subway that ends/starts in Jersey too you can take, but I don't know how stabby it is.
