D&D is also another one too, probably the same issues as smut stuff.

Probably a little easier to break into if you're good at drawing fantasy RPG characters versus anthropomorphized penises.

DnD has pretty terrible commission prices. You'll often see popple charging 20-25 dollars for full characters.

I would have expected a lot higher than that!

    like $100

maybe $25 for black and white or top half of torso only or something

    that's surprising to me!

I have seen far worse for Character art prices just I felt it was to discourage people from asking

It's a lot of students and hobbiests (of all skill levels) that have bottomed out the market because they don't think they should charge that much for things they enjoy doing.

You have to be noticably very good or well known in a community to charge more.

JROTC is doing a blood drive today and I am letting them use my library for it.

Since I have nothing to do today because of this I decided to try and fight my phobia of needles and for the first time in my life I donated blood. It went okay. I felt slightly lightheaded right at the end and told them like they said to and they imminently lowered by bed and put cold cloths on my head and put a huge fan next to me. I was good like ten seconds later.

Also in the pre-check I noticed they used the same model barcode scanners I use and mentioned it. The lady commented about how the beeps can get annoying and I told her how you can print off a configuration sheet and scan the programing codes to turn off the beeping. She was genuinely shocked and excited.

You fool! They know your taste now! Pray they don't find it appetizing!

Though seriously, the red cross is super annoying with emails if you're one of the rarer blood types.

Dumb question: Doesn't that mean you don't know if an item was scanned correctly if you don't get a beep?

I made a plug for some fiberglass part a while ago, except I got my dimensions wrong by 1/4". This is for a part that sits inside a larger part, so now there's unwanted slop. I work with the fiberglass guy, and we decide to just thicken the outer part up to make up the difference.

As we're talking it through, New Owner comes in. We run him through what happened, and he turns to the fiberglass guy and goes: "it's ok, don't tell Anon, but mistakes happen, we'll just fix it for him."

Almost put him on the floor.

Fiberglass guy watched my hands turn white as I gripped the table. When I looked up at him his eyebrows were at the ceiling and I could just about hear his teeth grinding.

So the Butte Camp fire has now completely destroyed my first hospital and the surrounding town. This was posted on the local EMS facebook.
While I was checking equipment in my Ambulance, I heard a call for help. Two of our crews were trapped in the grasp of the Camp Fire and had no escape. This is the story that was told by one of the 4 hero’s that saved all their patients.

They were dispatched to Feather River Hospital to evacuate patients. They got their patients loaded and started their transport.

While transporting their patients the fire surrounded them and over heated one of the Ambulances. They drove down a cede-sac. They didn’t have a away to escape. They came on the radio and told BCEMS dispatch, that they were trapped in the fire and they have no escape and that they’re taking shelter in the only standing house on the street with their patients.

They took everyone of their patients out of their Ambulances and carried or drug them, as flames drew closer and hot ambers burned them. They managed to get everyone into the garage. At that point they came back on the radio and gave an update of the address they were located and asked for a update on the response coming to their aid. They were told, we have a engine coming but they can’t get into the area and CHP air 14 is en route for an evac.

At this point listing to the radio we had every unit trying to reach the 4 Paramedics from Police, Fire, EMS and CHP Helicopters but what no one knew is that help wasn’t going to reach them due to impassable roads and fire.

From talking to the Paramedic that was involved in this incident he was talking to one of our Battalion Chiefs and he asked “we’re getting out of here right?” The answer he got was “I’m not sure.”

They came on the radio and stated that they’re making a stand grabbing every hose and they’re actively fighting fire and that they have a specific number of patients in the garage (I don’t remember what they number was). They got on the roof of the house that they were taking shelter in and started making a defensible space from the fire.

This crew spent at least an hour with no help but them selves. Finally they were able to evacuate back to Feather River hospital and get out of the red zone. One of the Ambulances burned to the ground.

If it wasn’t for these two crews heroic actions and decisions yesterday a total of 8 people would have not been coming home to their families.

Keep all the First Responders in your thoughts as they work tirelessly.

Reminder: California just voted in prop 11, taking away EMS crew's missed meal compensation. Good job California.

Yay! Everyone should donate blood if they can. I'm sitting here on mobile typing one handed while doing a double red donation. Blood donation is like the easiest thing to do with a mega potential impact.

There wasn't a no argument submitted, also the ambulance companies spent over 10 million dollars advertising it as "EMS personnel want you to help us skip our lunch breaks, now your grandma won't die because I'm forced to wait until my break is over!" Which was never the issue, they always skipped, they just got paid for it.

imo once you're deciding such policy minutia such as "lunch break compensation for emergency services personnel" you have clearly left the bounds what the proposition system is able to rationally accommodate.

So this isn't exactly job related (although it's definitely going to affect my Uber schedule this weekend) but the Los Angeles area is currently kinda really on fire.

It's mainly burning from Thousand Oaks down towards the Pacific Ocean and Malibu, but as of right now they've got eyes on houses burning in the West Hills neighborhood in The Valley because the winds are shifting and the fire is starting to burn to the east. There's over a quarter of a million people evacuated as of now.

I know there are quite a few of us in the greater Los Angeles area. Stay safe everybody.
