[Destiny 2] Forsaken: Dance Like Nobody's Shooting (At You)
Posts
Didnt see what exotics the randoms got though.
Super cool!
Done.
Penny Arcade 100 Group for PS4
At least you've gotten 4. I had like 6 the week or two before the patch, all Y1 exotics and about half of them duplicates of armour I had already gotten post-Forsaken.
Since the patch I've gotten .... Armamentarium. Again.
Oh well, it's good infusion fodder
Woe is me.
Havent seen anything new in +3 weeks.
This was the main weapon I was hoping for, and it is every bit as fun to use in strikes as anticipated.
Scratch that, four new exotics out of six now. What a great patch!
8-)
Matchmaking does that thing where the next activity/return to orbit thing doesn't appear and I couldn't mash B fast enough soo... second match of Gambit: 4 stack and I spilled some of my coffee too!
Third match of Gambit on my Titan after cleaning up: 4 Stack!
Pause between matches, swap some gear... finish writing this post as I queue up... and fourth match of Gambit on my Titan...
edit: but it's shreikers spam hive.
edit: nm, I am taking crazy pills.
Frigid Jackal finally dropped, got it via my 3rd character's Nascent Dawn 1/5 quest completion
I finally have the Wayfarer title. 888 seraphite later, I finally never have to get my ass to Mars ever again.
Ursa is just way more satisfying and enjoyable to use. In Quick Play where somebody is gonna panic and shoot the encroaching purple death wall, it feels so silly to basically chain supers.
It profoundly changes rounds in Control.
It legit is like the most fun Titan exotic in D2 and I will be so sad when it gets nerfed.
How is it in competitive? I have 6 games left on my Redrix quest on the hunter, and after that I want to switch to doing comp on the Titan so I can use Ursa.
How was I supposed to know this? Fates engram directly tells you they dont have Y2, boons do not.
I'm going to try to be on in about 2.5 hours, I'll msg you if I manage it.
If only they had cross save capabilities...

I mean I only heard that boons even gave exotics in this thread and Reddit. It was a big thing for a week until everyone realized they were just getting Y1
To be completely honest it may just be crucible that gives y1 and I suppose vanguard might give y2. I doubt it though. I’m not saying you should know. I’m just saying now that you do know you don’t need to be as annoyed by bad luck
Not sure only got it recently. Was going yo give it a shot maybe tonight. I expect it is a little less good since that player baae probably knows better than to shoot. But it may still help in soaking other supers.
Results below, TLDR unspoilered
•Super mods give a much faster charge time while not killing enemies •These charge times have a small amount of diminishing returns (less effect per mod when stacking mods)
•Super mods either do not affect or negatively affect the charge gained per kill when not chaining kills •My hypothesis here is that super mods do not affect the charge per kill, however, faster base charge rate means kills matter less
•Super mods are a good investment if you don't kill many enemies
•This means super mods are probably good for me in PvP
THE METHOD:
I began by loading into the Dreaming City landing zone. There is no specific reason I chose this zone, just that a lot of red bar enemies spawn over by Petra. First, I tested the AFK super times, which is what mods seem to affect the most. Then, I killed 10 red bars and found how much it changed the super charge time. I took a few precautions with how I killed the red bars:
•I killed only acolytes, thralls, or taken vandals. I didn't observe any difference when killing knights or other "big red bars", but I wanted to keep data as consistent as I could.
•I made sure not to "chain kills", which involved waiting at least 5 seconds in between each kill. If I did chain kills, it would increases the amount of super energy gained compared to a normal kill..
•I tested all things involving kills 3 times and got similar results
•Once I killed 10 red bars, I went AFK and did not damage anything
•I did not use any perks that generate super (Light reactor, heavy lifting, pump action, etc.)
•I killed all enemies with a Horror's Least pulse rifle
•I did not participate in Public events
•I did not include tests in which I leveled up (yes, this happened)
THE RESULTS:
Let's begin with the 0 mod tests:
AFK with 0 mods, my super generated in 5:00. This will be the baseline for all of the tests performed.
With the same build and killing 10 red bars, my super generated in 4:10, or 50 seconds faster.
This means that, with 0 mods, each kill gives 5 seconds worth of charge. This was very consistent in all 3 tests that I ran with these variables
Now, onto 3 mods:
AFK with 3 mods, my super generated in 4:00.
With 10 red bar kills, my super generated in 3:30
This means each kill gave 3 seconds worth of charge, or less than with 0 mods.
These numbers were also very consistent
Lastly, 5 mods:
AFK my super generated in 3:30
with 10 red bar kills, my super generated in 3:10
This means each kill gave 2 seconds worth of charge, or the least cooldown reduction per kill.
These numbers varied from 3:05 to 3:15 because of simple human error. (chaining 2 kills, dying, etc.)
EDIT: Numbers added later:
AFK with 1 mod - 4:40
AFK with 2 mods - 4:15
CONCLUSION:
•Super mods give a much faster charge time while not killing enemies •These charge times have a small amount of diminishing returns (less effect per mod when stacking mods)
•Super mods either do not affect or negatively affect the charge gained per kill when not chaining kills •My hypothesis here is that super mods do not affect the charge per kill, however, faster base charge rate means kills matter less
•Super mods are a good investment if you don't kill many enemies
•This means super mods are probably good for me in PvP
If people want me to test anything else, leave a comment. Also, if this gains traction, I might do part 2 with perks like Pump action, Remote Connection, and Light Reactor, as well as Dynamo.

I’m not sure what gear has to do with you disliking gambit? I do roughly the same, stat wise, on my 600 Titan with 1KV as I do on my 535 hunter. Where are you struggling?
i ran with my titan in the low 400s and didn’t notice a significant difference
The lack of any meaningful matchmaking is really destroying Gambit on top of all the balance issues.
While I wouldn't call it "adult virgin gear": or whatever, the game rewards players who invest time in it with gear that makes it easier to do things.
Unless you're Siri. then it's Y1 exotics forever.
i’ve never found what the other team has makes a significant difference other than if they are coordinated and have the ikelos shotgun
invading is obnoxious but i’ve rarely seen it actually make a difference in a match
might just be my experience though
At the very least a Lone Wolf queue would help prevent 4 stack vs randos stomps.
