Also I think I've decided on Azorius for the prerelease(s) I do because white and blue just have amazing commons and uncommons and very few of their rares are duds. Lavinia is probably the worst one you could get as your guild rare.

The phrase "Whenever an artifact/enchantment/land is put into a graveyard from the battlefield" can be shortened. I don't think destroy can be used here, unless you specifically leave out sacrificed ones from the conditional phrase.

"Breaks" almost works, and "Is razed" fits pretty well.
I want them to make/use a single word for when noncreature permanents "die".
enchantments, walkers, artifacts, and lands all function very differently and keywording that kinda thing would be incredibly limiting
I don't think they mean keyword it in the sense of "all land/enchantment/artifact goes-to-graveyard triggers are now commingled" or an actual rules keyword, I think they just want a descriptive and flavorful way to shorten the phrase. I don't see any rules limitations on "whenever an enchantment you control is razed" compared to "whenever an enchantment you control is put into the graveyard from the battlefield", or whatever.
Also, technically, the rules defined term for this action already exists: "Dies". The glossary of the comprehensive rules says "A creature or planeswalker 'dies' if it is put into a graveyard from the battlefield. See rule 700.4.", but rule 700.4 is literally
The term dies means “is put into a graveyard from the battlefield.”
So you can already write a card as "whenever an enchantment you control dies" and it's perfectly legal, it's just weird.
Gruul is my goal guild that's for sure, but I can be convinced by a solid showing from a different guild. I'm very sad I missed my favorite guild in the previous release with the Red/Blue combo.

I think I'd settle on "razed" for it if I had to, because it's got some weight to it and fits flavorfully with lands and artifacts, though it's a bit off the mark on enchantments. The biggest point I'd make in favor of it is that it doesn't work flavorfully for creatures or planeswalkers; since "dies" is already a term, any term that could apply to all permanents like "eliminate" misses the mark.
That said, as much as I personally might enjoy the shortened wording I don't think it's a good idea to do it. Stuff that cares about creatures dying is common and it's extremely grokkable, so the term is actually easier than writing out the rules definition and saves a ton of time. On the other hand, any word for artifacts/lands/enchantments going to the graveyard would be used far less often, and would require new players to look it up the first time, so it has much less benefit for much more cognitive load.
Plus, the bigger issue with such a word would be on land, enchantment, and especially artifact creatures; while those are already slightly confusing, having them both be razed and die at the same time is weird and unintuitive.

Huey Jensen is streaming a hilarious Mardu aristocrats deck and crushing pretty much everyone in today's streamer feature event. The deck:
Stealing a list shamelessly from /r/spikes, I'm looking forward to playing both the Temur Pod list in the Hareruya list and something like this Bant list below:
4x Llanowar Elves
4x Merfolk Branchwalker
4x Tithe Taker
1x Kraul Harpooner
3x Exclusion Mage
4x Militia Bugler
2x Knight of Autumn
2x Deputy of Detention
3x Conclave Cavalier
4x Prime Speaker Vannifar
1x Shalai, Voice of Plenty
1x Lyra Dawnbringer
3x Biogenic ooze
4x Temple Garden
4x Breeding pool
3x Hallowed Fountain
3x Sunpetal Grove
3x Hinterland Harbor
3x Glacial Fortress
3x Forest
1x Plains
SB
1x Deathgorge Scavenger
1x Remorseful Cleric
3x Conclave Tribunal
1x Vivien Reid
2x Settle the Wreckage
2x Negate
1x Spell Pierce
1x Disdainful Stroke
1x Deputy of Detention
1x Lavinia, Azorious Renegade
Probably swapping at least one of the Biogenic Ooze for a toolboxy Trostani. Militia Bugler looks insane in that list, too, tutoring up basically all of your creatures even when they're certainly gonna be bigger, and podding into Ooze looks a lot stronger than having to actually play it.
With the frequency I'm seeing that 1RG 3/3 Riot dude showing up in prospective decklists, I'm wagering that will be an expensive card.
Also I think people are underestimating midrange but, as usual, midrange will take a while to settle on a list that can stem the tides of figuring-out-the-meta aggro lists. My bet is still on monoblue being a Very Good Deck that is capable of handling threats in all varieties and will have mostly even matchups that come down to knowing the matchups moreso than bringing paper to a room full of rocks.

Everything current expires in six hours, so it's probably then.

I am very cold on Theater of Horrors compared to the other pseudo-draw available to red right now but I certainly won't complain if it winds up being good

I'm starting to get confused why this janky ass Antiquity War deck is doing so well in ranked for me.
I went the whole way through silver last night and my only losses were to a mana screw and an aggro deck that curved out perfectly.

Until you hit Gold it's literally impossible not to gain rank, so anything you're playing against in Bronze and Silver is probably an untested deck. Not to say there can't be some sweet Antiquities War list that can shark the meta, but pre-gold is jank paradise

I'm coming to terms with the fact that playing jank is my only constant.
I don't like the fact that I'm basically a decklist hipster but I can't ignore the truth.
edit: also why is everything dropping all on January 18th? New set on Arena, new Diablo 3 season starts, new... season of Grace and Frankie

4x Deep Freeze
4x Sky Scanner
4(?)x Sinister Sabatoge
2x Voltaic Servant

YOU PLAY GRUUL. YOU SMASH. YOU RIOT.
rakdos probably got more red aggro stuff though
the 3 drop spellbreaker thing is nuts though. gets out of clarion range and makes them unable to use settle the wreckage
