GSC Biophagus. I want him, shave of the head ridges, and use him in either an Inq. or Admech Magos Biologus retinue.

Head is most likely a separate piece, in case you have a suitable bit to swap.

In Shadow War they put out rules and scenarios for one-man armies like assassins and Marbo. And I believe older version of Kill Team had similar.

I sincerely hope they do the same for current Kill Team. There's historical precedent.

I think assassins are sort of like of like inquisitors when it comes to 40k. They're awesome in the fluff, but they're really hard to translate onto the table, because there's so much other bigger more powerful stuff running around. If an assassin is showing up in the middle of a pitched battle (even an eversor) they're a friggin bad assassin.

Asassins would need to be toned down or have their costs increased

An eversor would just clean everything’s click otherwise

I saw a couple guys play a narrative game once where one guy was using an army of Space Marines as a distraction for his Assassin who was trying to take out his opponent's leader. The marines assaulted from the front while the Assassin snuck around the back and took him out. It was pretty fluffy and seemed like a 'realistic' way for Assassins to operate in full size games of 40k.

It would be interesting to see how Assassins would work in Killteam.

Also, re: White Dwarf, I read a while back that they had "fixed" their problems with distribution, but I know people who haven't even gotten their January issue yet and February is already on store shelves in some places. This is why I never bothered to subscribe. It's at the point where unless there is some cool extra physical stuff or new rules/gametypes included in an issue I usually just wait for scans.

Finally started fiddling with my primaris kill team models, which I have never assembled. I haven't paid any attention to the primaris rules. Probably only planning to use these in kill team so far.

Before really figuring out the rules well enough, I modeled a power sword arm for what was going to be a reaver pack. Can't have a power sword on a reaver, so I guess he's an intercessor sergeant. Since I'm already committed to this, having chopped some arms and pinned an old space wolf power sword onto a primaris arm, what's in his other arm? Just need a "solid" suggestion for what the rest of this model's kit is.

What is this I don't even.

If that Reaver is a Combat Specialist with a Combat Knife and you use a strategem on him he can get 10 cc attacks in a turn.

I thought the Battleforces were basically Xmas deals as they did they 2 years ago last year's were Meh
The "games" I thought were a limited deal/printing Because when I came back was when they removed death masque which I did want but the price had skyrocketed
The Horus Heresy ones I think of them as limited things as I feel GW doesn't like seeing freight gather dust if it's a big seller or just doomed to rot until interest flares up

Some of the old ones going OOP I can see, but newer kits like Tooth and Claw or Wake the Dead should be on shelves for ages. Wake the Dead is a pretty recent box.

Yeah that's like the opposite of news. Any bundled sets that contain the actual model kits (not custom sprues like Dark Imperium) are always limited run and any unique minis in the set are later released separately. It's been that way since at least Deathstorm.

Besides, isn't horribly misinformed clickbaitey nonsense pretty much Spikey Bits' whole schtick?

Speaking of holiday sets going away, I haven't bought any terrain yet (other than the Kill Team base set), were any of the holiday deals particularly good enough to snatch up before they disappear? I can't tell with terrain: the newest set Sector Imperialis Manufactorum looks particularly anemic for its $60 price tag... I'm thinking about picking up the Urban Conquest box though: the campaign and scenarios look neat.

Well some of the kill team terrain sets are as well disappearing
I wanted the Sector Imperialis Manufactorum and I wanted to get another Wall of Martyrs {basically I want the board far more} I kind of want the boards more than the terrain as In time I could get that in pieces and cheap

Yea, I was bummed out to see wall of martyrs is gone. I really wanted a second one. I also want two of the arena, they showed a picture of two arena boards side by side and it looked cool together, unless that was just one board. Not sure.

I just really like the wall of martyrs stuff, I almost bought the Tau kill team starter which would have pretty much only been for the terrain.

I also kind of want the AdMech kt starter. Just need to find a job first.

If I ever revisited thousand sons I sure as hell wouldn’t do them the standard scheme, painting that trim was physically painful. Maybe something like custodians with a rich dark gold and gloss black armor, then red cloth.

Tsons painting scheme is pretty easy if you do it how GW does it in their video. I did some chaos warriors in it. It looks great.

I am thinking of adding the Rusty 17 to my deathwatch instead of the loyal 32.

Rusty 17-2x Enginseers and 3x5 man ranger squads. 5 cp
Loyal 32-2x company commanders 3x10 man guard squads. 5 cp

The first is cheaper now. But I also love the look of the Ad mech stuff.

I still cannot figure out how to build this Grey Knight strike squad for KT. There are so many more options than I expected.

Edit: I think I might just do 1 of each loadout, so 5 different Grey Knights, 3 different Grey Knight Gunners, and 1 Justicar. Don't really plan on doing anything competitive with them so I think this should be fine.

Whilst the Ad mech battalion is cheaper it’s worth remembering that the reason the loyal 32 is so good isn’t just cheap CP. You lose the the CP regeneration, three units of 5 isn’t enough to screen your army, your shooting is nowhere near as potent and losing orders means your much less effective at taking objectives. The ad mech are probably tougher even with less models (what with the better save and -1 to hit) but your going to have a bad time vs smite or anything with a reasonable weight of fire to not give a shit about the -1.

If all you care about is CP yes it’s cheaper. But personally I’d pay the extra points for units that can obsec an objective from 17” away, or throw 100 lasgun shots downrange. Depending on what else your running your also going to have a bad time with deepstrikes.

Rusty 17 can also bring a pretty cheap anti-air or anti-tank Onager... 112 and 117pts respectively. And if you take the free data tether, for 1cp (PROTECTOR DOCTRINA IMPERATIVE!) the Icarus onager can dump 10 shots, str 6/7, -1/2/3ap, hitting on 2's 48 inches downwind.

    Beta Rule - Bolter Discipline

All Adeptus Astartes and Heretic Astartes models gain this ability. Instead of following the normal rules for Rapid Fire weapons, Rapid fire bolt weapons used by models with this ability make double the number of attacks if any of the following apply:

The firing model's target is within half the weapon's maximum range.
The firing model remained stationary during its previous Movement phase.
The firing model is a Terminator, Biker, Centurion or Vehicle.

Things like this make me want them to redo their rules to be in a style similar to what Infinity has. Instead of weapons being Rapid Fire and having Bolter Discipline modifying it, you'd have weapons that are Rapid Fire 1/2/3, where level 1 is the existing rule (the first condition of Bolter Discipline), 2 covers stationary models, and 3 is double fire all the time. Which honestly is even weirder since it basically changes the weapon from Rapid Fire X into Assault 2X? But GW also want's unified weapons lists for each army with constant points costs within them, so there's a bit of a conflict there.

Generally just changing things from core rules that get completely changed by other rules and more towards varying levels of core rules that behave consistently over all the codexes.

Shut up, Mr. Burton! You were not brought upon this world to get it!

Wow! I dig it. If that becomes permanent they'll need to buff auto bolt rifles and stalker bolt rifles to compensate. I wonder if that will transfer into Kill Team as well.
