I have to try and unlock as much as I can, but I'm not gonna go the Brawl route and ruin my experience with the game to do so
There's a spreadsheet available of what it takes to unlock each character, maybe I'll just prioritize some really important ones (Incineroar, Isabelle, Little Mac, Snake, Richter) and then just take my time with World of Light
Posts like this and some of the things I've seen on reddit almost make me sad. Just play the game ya'll! It's ok! It will still be there! You probably aren't going to EVO, but you probably ARE going to have a lot of fun! This game isn't even set up to have any real bullshit unlocks like Melee Mewtwo anyway, you'll get everyone just by playing relatively rapidly, and if you are somehow the person that honest to god finds the game unplayable without whoever is last in that chain...well, maybe loosen up a little there are like 70 characters, and the base game is fun with most anyone! Trying new people is fun too! Press buttons and stuff happens!
Sorry, that's much less at you and much more a rant at a culture of having "fun" optimally and it just gets really frustrating when what I and I think a lot of people would really want is to just recapture that spirit of unguided play that we had when we were younger, rather than the empty carrot chasing of unlocks.
I hope you love the game and get all the unlocks you want quickly
What if I do go to evo and other majors and locals doing things optimally is fun to me
My day 1 plan is getting everyone unlocked as fast as possible both to practice and because I have 1v1s to grind with friends in the area on Monday
My list of potential mains is imperfect because, haha, it turns out I love using Little Mac and catching people with USmash just before they hit the ground
