I’ve only unlocked one hidden aspect, so I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing here?
Most house relationships are towards the end, my Olympian relationships are getting there. Have 4 of the companions and the only hidden aspect I have is Hades for the spear. Just the game’s random NPC talks getting in my way or do I need to be completing some other tasks?

My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.
Yeah, that’d be it, I’ve stalled out almost exactly at 4 blood for the others while rotating among them. Guess I know what I’m doing after the end of the next run.
most of the time, I really don't like Stygian Soul.

I was regenerating ammo faster than it was popping out of enemies. On the final boss, I managed to stick him full of 9 ammo, and then the game seemed to lose track. I think I got as high as 15 ammo stuck in the boss at one point, but I literally could not tell. And then said boss would, of course, take MASSIVE damage when the ammo actually expired. It was amazing. Also, at one point, I actually had THREE legendary boons, but I sold the one from Hermes because in this case his was useless (deals more damage when enemies DON'T have ammo in them, which, obviously, I was just pincushioning dudes with ammo by the end). *edit* I think the only thing that would have made this sillier is if I'd had Aspect of Poseidon
Aaugh! I finally got to the final boss on my 21st attempt. Shield with Aspect of Chaos. Tons of Zeus boons and a bunch of boons that would do damage to enemies when they damage me. However I got the boon to make those go off every three seconds no matter what. I could shield up, shoot (Got the hammer for that ability), and then toss three shields with random damage constantly happening. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough for the second phase of the final boss. Being that close honestly did put a bit of a damper in my spirits. I’ll keep trying, it just sucks when you can tell the damage output just isn’t enough and don’t know what I could have done differently.
Edit: And on my next run I meet Demeter who gives me an Epic dash, so I’m feeling much better.

Ah, just keep grinding. I think I'm at 6? escapes on 50+ tries. God mode isn't shameful, either, and I swear to god I cannot figure out how anyone escapes with the swords/fists.

I was kind of surprised. After 60 attempts, I respecced my Darkness and immediately had my first successful run.

It’s kind of surprising how Darkness is...kind of finite. I think maybe you can only get so much, and then the Darkness drops become much more scarce in favor of Gemstones and other trinkets. Does that sound right?
I sadly used all 6 of my titan blood on the shield and bow, so I sadly can’t try any other aspects until I beat the game once.
It was a little bit of a damper, but I’m already excited to do more runs again.

yeah at some point, you'll have finally unlocked everybody's Relationship Meters and maxed out the Cthontic Companions, and then you can dump all your spare Ambrosia into more Blood. I'm getting... close-ish. I could *probably* calculate out the exact amount of Ambrosia I need, but I'm lazy. Remaining relationship meters are Hermes (unlocked at least, I just have a bad habit of slamming E and forgetting to Gift *before* I talk for Olympians x_X), Zeus, Poseidon, Artemis, Aphrodie, Achillies and Patroclus (I *think* for these last two their storyline is FINALLY starting to move forward again; took fucking FOREVER); and then Demeter, but she doesn't really count because I believe her last Hearts only unlock *after* the prologue.
Also, if you hoard Obols like a maniac during runs and can get as far as Styx, you can *usually* buy one Titan Blood per run for 1200 Obols from Charon. Or a Diamond for 1000, which is also useful.
On a related note, I'm VERY damn close to finishing out all non-Plot dependent Minor Prophecies. I think all I have left are Shield and Sword Hammer Boons, and Legendary Boons, so all RNG bullshit basically.

Do you mean per run? I haven't noticed any petering off of Darkness. You can farm it pretty easily once you're clearing regularly, since killed bosses drop Darkness instead of the rare goods.

I just, my last run was an astonishingly small amount of Darkness. Like maybe 60. And it occurred to me that I’ve maxed out just about all my Darkness ranks. Maybe I can toggle the things I don’t have ranks in and can fill those up too? I just thought, maybe I’m approaching having it all, so the game won’t give me any more because what would I do with it?
I think I'd like to see them revise the spear a bit in the future. There's something about it that just seems to be a bit boring as compared to everything else IMO.
Managed a 19 minute clear last evening with aspect of eris on the gun. I was clearing some of the final rooms on the surface in under 2 seconds.

I feel like the spear is the best all-around weapon in the game. Great range on normal attacks, AoE dash attack, charged AoE attack for sniping spawning enemies, and super long range special with free backstab on return.
And the upgrades? Exploding AoE Special is bonkers. Triple strike gives more coverage which is great for debuff builds. And rapid attack replaces the arguably weakest part of the Spear in favor of faster dps.
I’ve had the most success with the Spear, but that might be mostly because of my play style.

If you're pushing heat for bounty rewards, you aren't getting darkness. The chamber drops are peanuts compared to the post-bounty boss drops.
It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

The sword attack combo is really slow, unsafe, and only the third hit does decent damage, while pushing things out of the way so you can't keep the combo going.
I've seen people say the best way to use it is Dash attack twice then special once. After the special hits, your dashes will be back and you can do it again.
I personally go with poseidon aspect and then play a cast build.
Jeez the last spear upgrade is probably my least favorite. It makes you way too slow and I don't think his charge attack is worth the 3 or 4 HP you get for using it. Especially when you keep getting jumped.
Plus I got the -25% dash distance upgrade. It just made me way too vulnerable.

I hate the bow unless I'm using the aspect that makes the special home in on a target. Then I become a force of nature with it. Especially if I have Demeter's boon on the special for quick freeze stacks. I've also had good luck getting the hammer upgrade that adds arrows to the special.
My other hated weapon is the fist weapon. That's a bit too close for my liking and easy to dash out of range of something you're hitting.
I want to like the spear more but something about the basic attack just feels a little off for me. If I find the hammer upgrade that makes the jab quicker at the expense of the spin attack though it becomes much smoother for me.
The shield is probably my favorite weapon. I don't use the rush attack outside of the blocking effect. But smashing enemies into walls or lava just seems to work for me.

Nearly 30 runs in and I feel like I'm bashing my head against the wall that is Theseus and Asterius. I've thrown well over 4000 Darkness into upgrades and I can just barely put down Asterius before getting ganked.

It's moderately common. You'd be swimming in the stuff if you weren't frantically giving it out.
I had been partially spoiled- I knew there was a chariot- but I was not expecting THAT. Still won, just hurt. Does Asterious have a shitpot more health in this version or is it just me?
Nearly 30 runs in and I feel like I'm bashing my head against the wall that is Theseus and Asterius. I've thrown well over 4000 Darkness into upgrades and I can just barely put down Asterius before getting ganked.
This was my biggest hurdle for a long time as well. Lots of good advice in the thread if you want to search, but generally speaking:
Fight outside the arena, focusing solely on Asterius while staying far away from Theseus.
Do not use your Call. It should get charged to max fairly fast, but hold onto it, especially if it's Artemis. Unless your call is Invincibility, then use it to get out of sticky situations.
Shift your attention between yourself and Asterius. When you see a pink target on you, get behind a pillar.
Asterius has an easy attack pattern: big swipe, big swipe, jump attack. Stay away from him for the first the swipes. After the second swipe, dash towards him and he'll go over you with the jump attack, leaving his back exposed for damage.
Note that sometimes Asterius will mix in another jump attack or two. You should be able to react to them by dashing towards him again.
When Asterius paws the ground, he's going to charge at you. Put a pillar between you two to stop him.
At half health, Asterius will add some ground projectiles after his jump attack. Doesn't change much though.
If possible, use your mirror bonuses by sticking your Casts into Asterius/Theseus (+50% damage) and applying x2 debuffs (+40% damage)
For Theseus, stay behind a pillar and wait for his spear throw. After he throws it, dash in and get some damage into his exposed back. Then dash out.
Do this until he's at half health, this is where he'll call on a god to help him.
Keep repeating the same pattern but watch for the god attacks.
After Theseus has exhausted his invulnerability, you can use your damage Call in place of attacks when his back is exposed. Make sure not to unleash your call in front of him or he'll block it. Artemis will shred his health bar at mid to high levels and lucky crits.
You'll get there eventually. My biggest hang-up was focusing too much on Asterius and not watching out for the target on my character. Once you get used to the timing, you should be ok.

I think you can get Asterius' charge to hit Theseus, but it's fiddly enough that it's probably not worth attempting if he's not nearby.
If you lucked out enough to have acquired some sort of high-damage AoE, go ahead and use it on both Theseus and Asterius. If you have enough damage output to get him to half health while still mostly targeting Asterius, you have enough to just burn him down. I believe that he has half the health of Asterius, so under the right circumstances you can clear him out of the way fairly quickly.

Not very rare. Give one to everyone until you’ve run out of people to give one to.
