[House Investigations] The Hon. Elijah Cummings Has Some Questions

With both the shutdown and the need to get staffs spun up, the Democratic committee chairmen have had their hands full. But now, they are beginning to spin up the investigations they have been planning, and first on the list is House Oversight Committee chair Elijah Cummings announcing a detailed investigation into the security clearance processes during the transition. His targets include the likes of Flynn, Kushner, Pence, Rob Porter, Gorka, Bolton, KT McFarland, etc., so it's clear he's not playing around with these requests. We also have Michael Cohen slated to testify before the House Intelligence Committee on February 7th,which is expected to have some potential for bombshell dropping.

This thread is meant to ONLY discuss the specific House Investigations going on. Mueller discussion goes here, shutdown talk goes here, and 2020 talk will make the mods look for blunt objects to beat the offender into submission.

Basically they put 4 firebreathers on the oversight committee. These are not people with fond memories of the pre-Gingrich days, these are people who absolutely detest what the Republican party has become and who despise the Trump Administration.

There can be separate threads for Ways and Means, Oversight, and Intel Committees if there is specific news about investigations they are doing that people want to discuss

Anything that fits into an already existing thread topic can go there

If something needs its own thread (like to discuss the Green New Deal or other large major legislation specifically) then a new thread can be started
