I find the Spitfire more forgiving before you've got attachments; the R-301 is great but raw off the ground it's got hella recoil and is really hard to use at any kind of range (on console, scrub4lyfe).
If you don't have the 301 all decked out and you need to use it at range put that bad boy on single fire, it's like a faster shooting scout.
Bangalore feels like Stolen Valor, the character and is fronting way too hard. I like her playstyle, but she's kinda ridiculous. She's a character of what civilians with no military knowledge think military people are like.
I find it more funny than anything. She reminds me of the dude I saw around Veteran's day with Marine cammo and Army patches.
Bangalore is the vet who signed on as infantry, twisted her ankle in her first month of getting to her unit then became the unit supply clerk for the remainder of her enlistment. After discharge she joined her community college veterans group to constantly talk about how much of a badass infantryman she was and all the cool shit her unit did, while leaving out how she remained back at base counting stock for all of that. She repeats jokes like "heh, purple heart, more like enemy marksmanship badge", and walks around wearing old Marine t-shirts that say "lead, follow, or get out of the way" or "pain is weakness leaving the body" and works security at the local foodmax. She's perfect.

Team pinned down by a sniper, whilst they distracted them I used the stim ability and the jump pad to get behind the sniper.
I proceeded to die right after killing the sniper but still..
Tried to use a jump pad to go up and over a team that was holding the roof of watchtower south against our team below them. Ended up placing it too close to a wall and just smacking into that and clambering up it.

Aaaaaaa, I got my first win!
Tonight was the most hours I’ve put into the game in like weeks and I finally stole the win. We dropped in the blue loot hotzone and right off the bat I found a fully kitted Peacekeeper, when eventually found a legendaey loot tick with ANOTHER fully kitted Peacekeeper, and it was honestly pretty quiet, just looting and running from the circle. Things got ridiculous when we found a supply drop with a Mastiff, I dropped my Peacekeeper for that and had our third pick it up and we became the gold shorty squad. At any rate it gets down to three squads and i’m in like a two story house and my squadmates go down. I think I hear footsteps coming inside the house so I just do the PUBG thing and wait in a corner and see if I can pull off an ambush. Nobody comes so I shoot and knockdown one person, shoot at a second but I don’t think I knocked them. Then I turn the corner and see a lifeline trying to heal up. Couple of shots later and I totally stole that game.
Figures the mastiff would lead me to victory considering how much I used it in TF2.

I've gotten to be on the champion squad, like, three times in the past three days, which makes me feel like I'm improving until the results screen pop up to show my very impressive 0 kills and, like, 90 damage. Ah well, at least I feel like I'm contributing!
i bought caustic the other night and i gotta say......he's pretty fun to play even though he's an awful stink man
Yeah, those gas traps are combination crowd control, early warning, and a worse but one-man version of the Bangalore/Bloodhound combo. It's so nice to have that sort of thing as just part of your neutral game.
The worst thing about being a skinflint and not buying new characters is not being able to understand their abilities. I'm still not quite sure how Caustic works, despite him being in the game from inception.

Passive ability: Enemies being affected by Caustic's gas are highlighted to Caustic, letting him easily see them through the gas. Also Caustic is not affected by gas.
Active abilty: Can toss gas traps. Can have up to 3 gas traps ready to toss at a time, up to 6 traps active in the world. If enemy gets close to gas trap or if they/Caustic shoot it then it releases a gas cloud. Gas cloud does damage over time, makes it hard to see, and highlights you for Caustic. Enemies can disable and destroy traps before they release their gas by shooting their red base plate.
Ultimate ability: Gas grenade. Toss it and instantly create a zone of gas. Similar to gas traps, just without the trap part.
Second passive ability: Big ol' hit box that is really fun for enemies to shoot.
