Now, this IS a classic, and a great song, but unfortunately (well, not really, no regrets) I've seen Shaun of the Dead about a hundred times, so all I could think of was:
This happened again today while I was down at the pool - playing my music over bluetooth because I'll do literally anything to keep other people away from the pool while I'm using it:
Except... I think it's fair to say that if you've EVER seen Apocalypse Now, even once back in Film Studies 101 or whatever, you will not be able to mentally unlink The End from the opening scene of that film:
This is more about the soundtrack itself but man when a group and I were studying for exams, the Inception one built a perfect feeling of urgency and importance and a little dread
Sliver had a weird electro cover of Can't Help Falling In Love With You, and every time I hear the original song that's the version I get stuck in my head. I don't think I ever saw the movie, mind you.
Strangely enough, the second most memorable film scene using this piece also belongs to the death of a man in a white suit and hat who shows attraction towards an underage individual: Koji Yakusho's pork sausage monologue near the end of Tampopo, though that's more of an ironic usage--perhaps it's all a reference to the Visconti film.
David Bowie's "Modern Love" will always remind me of Denis Lavant's non-sequitur running movement number in Mauvais Sang
There's of course another incredible Denis Lavant movement piece set to pop music, but the title is better left unsaid because of how surprising the scene is.
+1

This is cheating because it’s from the sound track but song is great and it’s a great moment in the film and if you haven’t seen Into the Spiderverse yet, don’t watch it.
This one got stuck pretty firmly from a movie I watched a billion times as a kid that I was thrown for a loop when I heard it playing on the radio in a deli-

@Tenzytile I LOVE TAMPOPO and that's such a great scene, but I don't think I had noticed the music playing in it before you pointed it out?
Annd on the other side of film (quality-wise, at least)... as a kid I didn't realize that this was a cover, it was just "the song from the end of Ghostbusters 2":
Strangely related, I've never seen Can't Hardly Wait, but the only way I could find the song High by Feeder was buying that soundtrack. It's a very good soundtrack.
I had, of course, first heard the song in a DBZ AMV.

This song basically made the movie in a lot of ways
But I can't really bring any poplar music from the movies to mind off the top of my head... Besides obvious ones like eye of the tiger.
Oh wait here's one

Another one that always does it for me is Tiny Dancer, from that big singing scene in Almost Famous.
Honestly, Con Air also has Sweet Home Alabama attached to it for me.

Extra points for picking the movie

Although the song doesn't come up quite as often as others, every once in a while I'll hear this song:

And I can't separate it mentally from:

Which was a pretty mind-blowing and important movie for high school Sandra
