Dude, Sound Barrier can get interrupted. It often does get interrupted against good players. That still doesn't stop people from taking it.
I get that the other ult might be great if, for example, you play Maiev and they cast it on you for engages. But that's a shitty use of an ult because it will be win-more. If Maiev gets a good combo then someone on the other team should die regardless. You don't need to blow an ult cooldown just to pull it off unless you need a larger margin for error. In which case why take Anduin when you can literally just take Medivh and get Protected on a significantly shorter cooldown instead.

Well gee I guess Mosh Pit is also just a really bad ult then!
I mean, the difference there is that Mosh can stop people from using their CC to stop it. And yeah, it's not great when the enemy team can just stun/knock ETC out of it!
EDIT: Like, Mal'Ganis' channel ult is also generally considered to be very, very bad.

Thing is though, right, even if it gets stunned out? Timing it so that it negates, say, a Ring of Frost or a Hinterland Blast or whatever else, right, that's still valuable.
Just a heads up, there are now Protoss Reaver mounts available in-game as rare (I believe) drops from caches. There are some screenshots of them over on Reddit. Apparently, they're going to be featured in a loot bundle in later in May, but they were added into loot chests with this patch, just undocumented.
Protoss hype! Maybe they're gearing up to release them officially alongside the long-awaited Tassadar rework.
I saw Nausicaä when I was 8-9 years old. Scary and fascinating, especially after being spoon fed 80s merchandise cartoons for so long. Between that and Robotech, I couldn’t go back to old cartoons for a long time.

I still think it's a very good ult, regardless.
I mean, that's fair. There is a cast time so I dunno how well it can be used to counter those spells. It seems like it's something you use for the heal more than anything else (I say this after I was in a match against an Anduin and we lost because of that ult....because nobody on my team bothered to save their interrupts/displacements to stop anduin's casting. The one who did (Sidely) said that he used massive shove on Anduin and it didn't work, so I dunno if he hit someone else, it was a bug, or if Anduin is immune to displacements while casting (the latter would make a HUGE difference in its viability)
But lightbomb is basically Uther's divine storm, except with a 20 second shorter CD and if it hits 5 people then it creates a shield equal to about half a sound barrier for 5 whole seconds without any degradation. So I mean, you slap that on the person diving and you suddenly have a significant stun and mitigation on the hero the other team is going to be focusing.

The consensus from most high-level players at this point is that not only is Holy Word the default ult for Anduin, but that it's legitimately OP.
If you consider that in order to counter it you need to have an active displacement available (that isn't already going to be used for something else, such as to engage a fight or to stop Mosh Pit), then him having an ult that grants both Protected and heals his team for 25% HP makes it that much harder counter him in the draft. You are forced into a handful of picks (particularly healers) where you otherwise would have more flexibility.

People stunned Lili out of cups back in the day without that much trouble. Anduin has to self-root to do it and is weak to displacements, too. Doesn't seem like that'd be a huge issue? I guess it's a thing that you could overload on "must stun" abilities like having both Anduin and ETC, but that's a matter of not letting the enemy team do that in draft just like you don't want them to have, say, Gul'dan and Auriel together once upon a time.
What's different about this channeled ult rather than every other channeled ult, I guess is my question.

That Aether Walker build is so stupidly fun and it fixes a lot of problems that Li-Ming had, except waveclear.
i don't think it really fixes any problems she had, per se
removing the mana cost is really nice, but power hungry would also keep your mana adequately afloat as well (astral presence is still pretty bad though)
so rather than fixing any problems, i think it gives her some added versatility. having an effective 3 sec cd on teleport plus the 10% Q damage buff after teleport means you want to be teleporting CONSTANTLY. even small little repositions, just to keep proccing that 10% bonus damage, just because it costs no mana and has a shorter cd. you can catch people off guard with a sudden teleport forward into Q+W. being able to juke out shit more often is great too.
but i think realistically aether walker is just good now because it gives you three fucking things

Aether Walker is the default because it's now free. The math works out so that if you cast like, 2 free teleports before your mana bar runs out, you come out ahead. And you will cast way more than 2 teleports. The increase to mana tension (insert meme here) makes the free cast even more valuable.
Not only did this patch still not fix the hero select quest bug, it also seems to have fucked up the loadout UI to not be able to show unowned items? Such dedgame.

It gives you a lot of free mana during combat when you are getting resets and using teleport for damage / to finish off people and after the upgrade to teleport range it makes her slightly faster than a mount in getting around and with diamond skin it means you are basically always entering a fight with a shield up.
So it increases her effective mana pool (and thus, damage), survivability, and mobility.

power hungry does the same thing for mana, albeit not in teamfights (power hungry is better for downtime, but aether walker edges out in teamfights for sure)
i generally don't take diamond skin though, i rock mirrorball cause more burst (the 10% Q buff is fucking delicious with mirrorball)
i still assert it doesn't really fix any problems she had previously, it simply gives her increased versatility. i do like it a lot more than power hungry though, i think it's probably just going to be my default pick now.
I'm happy to have been there to be frustrated, too.

I am cocasting the NGS Division D semifinals match tonight, right now, if anyone wants to tune in:
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Watching those Division D semifinals last night was a trip, lol: teams aggressively invading camps down 12-13 and winning; teams aggressively invading shrines down 15-16 and winning; Kael'thas getting absolutely ridiculous living bomb value AGAINST DOUBLE MAGE AND ANA; etc. It's easy to see why KT is so feared in lower leagues; dude just absolutely pops off when people can't spread appropriately.
