So, SAM’s Hagakure got nerfed hard upon returning. It now gives 5 Kenki per Sen consumed instead of 20. So at 3 Sen, that’s 15.
Shinten is 320 pot for 25 kenki, which means 15 kenki is the equivalent of 192 potency. Midare has a potency of 800 for 3 Sen. Even considering the cast time of Iaijutsu, I have trouble seeing any legitimate use of Hagakure, excepting the case of the boss leaving long enough for you to lose your buffs and need to redo Higanbana.
Its mostly a tool to delete Sens, which is handy in case you've got 2 Sen for the AoE, but need 1 Sen to apply your DoT to the next boss. Before 5.05 you'd either grab one more Sen to do your heavy hit, then one more Sen to apply your DoT, or you'd first fire your AoE and then one Sen. Now you can just Hagakure one Sen away before the tank pulls and you're good to go.

Also, I find it kinda cute that the example characters for showing off the new items are a Viera and a Hrothgar. Else everyone’s first question would be “but can Hrothgar wear the Hchimaki?”
Love when we get the final ShB trial in roulette, one of the tanks ditches immediately and then we one-shot it with the next tank that comes in. ha, get fucked with your 30 minute deserter penalty buddy.
I actually just had that happen tonight as a DPS. I queued for it straight-up instead of roulette (just because it's fun), and I get an in-progress run with 0 minutes elapsed. Once you've been through the fight a few times and memorized how to react to each mechanic, it's a good ole' time, even with a wipe or two.
Actually, it reminds me of Final Steps of Faith in that I queue it for the music.

I started to dip my toes back into this last weekend. A friend of mine is leveling up a tank and is just about to the end of ARR and I’m an overleveled healer in the early part of heavensward. kinda taking it slow until he gets caught up but I am kind of excited to be giving it a shot again. Hopefully I don’t get intimidated by the mountain of content and quit again.

If you look closely, the one doing the stream did have it on his bar. But he dragged it off with a mouseclick and then deleted it.
So the better question is why didn't he lock his hotkeys in by clicking the little Lock icon next to hotbar 1.
Unless you're asking why any of the other dps didn't have LB on bar and ready to go?
After playing way too much Triple Triad today trying to clear out card icons on the minimap, I wonder why there's no inevitable defeat rule to make the games quicker. You don't play the bottom of the 9th when the home team is leading, why can't I skip needing to put the 9th card down on the board when I already have the lead?

From watching the archives it looks like they had decided in advance to have the MNK lb3 there because the DRG was in a burstier part of their rotation, but then he accidently clicked it off and panicked.
Thank God they cleared the next pull though, can you imagine how terrible that would feel otherwise?
