Yeah, the snide comment about Yahtzee staying with The Escapist can go fuck off, given that a) he was contractually bound to them and thus couldn't walk away without losing the rights to things like Zero Punctuation, and b) that he was part of the team that booted the alt-right geese from The Escapist and rebuilt it to be more inclusive.

Ooh! Real Engineering did a bit on the X-29! Given how popular this kind of design is in sci-fi (I'm looking at you, Macross Plus), it's really awesome to see why it works and why it is not really worth it.
Yahtzee's a shithead pessimist who barely played the games he reviewed but (right or wrong) got treated as gospel rather than humor by his fans. His personal politics can be great but he fostered a culture of negativity throughout his entire period of relevance that was fucking awful.
Today starting at 4:05 PM Eastern time, NASA TV will be showing the original moon landing footage at the exact time it happened for it's 50th anniversary. And at 10 PM Eastern, they'll be playing the original moonwalk footage.

Thanks for the heads up! I've got a minion preparing to stream it on the screens we usually use to promote library programs and on the projector in the meeting room.
Edit: Also, I just spent the last twenty minutes going through the work schedules of the rest of the libraries in the system. I was able to directly notify nine former minions and/or current friends who are working today, and three people who I don't really know. So hopefully it'll be streaming in one way or another across the entire system, and I hope we don't hit a cliffhanger at 5 when we're supposed to close.
Space!

If you're interested in the Apollo 11 mission "live" check out this website: https://apolloinrealtime.org/11/. It's got the whole mission synced to real time (scrubbable if you wish), the mission control audio, video, photos, transcripts, and commentary. The moon landing just happened less than 10 minutes ago so you can easily scrub back to it. The moonwalk hasn't happened yet.

It's honestly not even close. It's really not that bad once you learn the pattern, it's not actually skill intensive compared to levels that require constant juggling/throwing of items, jumping off of them, cancelling ground pounds, doing pixel perfect jumps etc. etc. etc.
This is MM1, not 2, but still this is the level one of the best Mario Maker players considers the hardest level he's personally beaten:

I like Yahtzee's sense of humor alright, on the whole, I actually enjoyed Mogworld a fair bit which apparently makes me something of a standout, on these forums at least. I feel like, apart from simply it being something he's done a long time, he used to give somewhat more thorough opinions about things on Zero Punctuation, and he would talk about games he liked more often, or about things games did well, even if he didn't like the game overall. I feel it was a bit of a feedback loop. A lot of people preferred his negative stuff to his positive stuff, so he did more negative stuff because there just wasn't the audience for that sort of thing, but the more he and/or the Escapist moved to satisfy that audience with Zero Punctuation the more it became synonymous with his brand and what people who watched Zero Punctuation were after.
One could draw many deeper meanings and lessons from this, personally I just miss his older somewhat more varied content.

you don't want a guy to celebrate a home run, maybe pitch better?
The MLB commercials were railing against it last season, haven't watched too much this year
