Yea all the Terran fluff is very blunt in saying that almost all marines are criminals filled up the the eyeballs with drugs to keep them under control.

Raynor's Raiders are the good guys, yes. The vast majority of the Terran forces are the bad guys. In fact, pretty much the entire story of Brood War was "let's trick this one group of bad guys into killing this other group of bad guys" repeated ad nauseam.

After watching the gameplay videos, I could not reinstall Starcraft fast enough.

I guess now I'm going to actually have to develop a little bit of skill at RTS games. I love playing them, but I'm horrible as soon as I have to focus on more than 3 things going on at once.

    I'm excited.

I suck so bad at RTS though. I mean, I think it is just a character flaw that I have. Once I have more than 2 hotkeyed groups of units, I start to lose focus. It kinda drives me insane.

I hope I can enjoy this despite my lack of skill :P

To be fair, WC3 has a less steep learning curve than SC.

I'm pretty sure I own pretty much every half decent RTS released in the last 10 years, and I can't stand the campaigns in any of them =( the majority of them i've never even tried the campaigns, i just cant get into them. I jump straight into multiplayer

My dad's almost 60, he got into SC at about the same time as me, and he does 1v7 comp games pretty often. He's less into the multiplayer because he can't stand anyone on it, but seriously, they're a game. If you can play Monopoly, you can eventually manage any RTS.

It amazes me how all of the new abilities given to the units cater to the micro-management crowd so well, while at the same time making me nearly cream my pants in anticipation. I want this game so goddamn bad its insane. All I want to do right now is build myself a Stalker army, separate them into a couple groups of five, and then warp them around the battlefield like Nightwalker on crack.

I appreciate the single player campaigns of Blizzard's games for two reasons; aside from the story development (hey, it's enjoyable), I like how the single player campaigns are tutorials to the races you can play. Each level you get another building and unit, basically, and in Warcraft 3 we saw some levels where the unit introduced in it was the key to victory (with the objective being based around what that unit was best at).

That requires me being good at RTS' before I consider it. :P

Actually, back around the end of highschool a few friends and I formed a team for the 4v4 ladder on battle.net for WC3. We played a grand total of 3 matches, with one loss, one lengthy victory (that involved the other team quitting), and one where we ended up with almost no resources on the map and having to clear out a bunch of tower-whoring.

Playing on Battle.net? Right. That’s just asking for an assfucking. I gave up on playing online games with strangers years ago. I have better things to do than get pwn3d repeatedly by losers who devote the vast majority of their free time to memorizing and practicing video game strategies solely for the glory of winning a contest that awards nothing, not even respect from your peers, unless you happen to live in South Korea.

I totally suck at RTS too, but I'm going to get it because I'll probably cheat my way through the single player story and odds are mods will come out that I'll play with my friends. I've never done a straight WC3 match online but I've played plenty of mods like DoTA.

Looks like it's just a map object. It's not a terran unit, since the immortals were right next to it and not attacking. Blizzard's used those for subtle easter eggs before.

I half-expect Tychus to say "Meega nala quista" if you click him too many times.

Speaking of Tychus, it's hard to say how he'll turn out. Yeah, he has a hefty rap sheet, but it's probably not that different from, say, Han Solo's. Part of me sees him as a "good guy" in the sense that Sin City's protagonists are "good guys" (not afraid to break more then a few laws or kill people they see as total assholes, but still holding some significant moral codes that keep them from looking like complete villains), while another part of me thinks this guy might try to screw over everyone when he sees an oppurtunity that greatly benefits him. The strength of the former is dependant on the context of the crimes he's done.
