I remember when I went to the first PAX South and the day before (Thursday) we had to go in and sign in or something like that. Do we still need to do that? Sorry if its a dumb question
The only time you'd need to do that is if you didn't get your badges mailed to you. In which case you could go to will call the day before and pick them up
Because PAX East now starts on Thursday, you can pick up your will call badges on Wednesday. Note you don't have to do this on Wednesday if you don't want to. You can just pick up your badge when you get to the convention.
If you already have you badges, then going on Wednesday isnt necessary.
Just be mindful that PAX now has security lines out front. So getting in can take a LONG time depending on when you go. Hard to predict Boston weather these days. Its 7C right now but that's kinda warm for this time of year. Boston aint Sydney! Sydneys' winters would be veritable beach weather wonderland for Bostonians. Check the weather and dress appropriately. Be prepared to potentially stand outside for 20-30 minutes. Aka if you think you're gonna just hop inside wearing shorts and a tshirt, we might have to roll your frozen carcass into the Charles River

No, there's no signing in. If you've got a badge, come on in. Doors open at 8am.
And yes, this will have a lot more people than South. East and West frequently trade off having the largest attendance.
