I think you need money to sue money out of somewhere (especially if that somewhere still has enough money for a decent lawyer to make things difficult/expensive), if anything it looks like Linda will be the one suing the church and she isn't likely to share with the girl she's blaming for all this (though she and Carol could probably find some common ground in 'visit not the sins of the father on the child' being bullshit. Totally blame the kids, it's all their fault).
Her future stepdad is the odds-on favourite, though. I can't remember where it's said, but he's a doctor of some kind, right? I got the impression of 'has money', anyway.
Wouldn't Blaine's estate still be on the hook for his previous court-imposed financial agreements? Probably not going to get the full 4 years but she will still a good chunk of whatever was in his bank accounts and any life insurance policies. The author of Cucumber Quest (Gigi D. G) ran out of mojo for it, and I just don’t see them doing any kind of update, despite their genuinely good intentions. It’s a shame, but I hope they move on to brighter things.
I’m not gonna lie, I’m bummed. I wanted to see the Nightmare Knight’s barely secret sabotaging of their own evil conquests come to light and find out why the cycle of heroes defeating him happens.
On the other hand, he’s the only character I could name right now, so perhaps the author was bored not with that concept, but the protagonists?
