@nusu, where are you getting the Best Buy Pokemon Sword discount from?
Its still full price on their site but I'd really like to pick it up for my niece at a discount if I can, already broke the bank on Switch lite.
It might have been through yesterday, it was a see low price in cart thing. Sorry about that.
Best Buy has basically become Amazon at this point with their deals, they don't do weekly ads anymore. I may drop them from weekly ad posts in the new year because it's just too annoying to keep up with their stuff. Speaking of, if anyone wants me to include other national ads, I can. I dropped Gamestop during the pandemic but I can ad them back in, or Walmart. I don't know if there are any other national chains that have video game sections in their ads.

No. Stop it. You wanted another holiday but you didn't want to call it Cartier Day because the Québecois would co-opt it and you didn't want a Viking name for some reason. So you got away with calling it Thanksgiving because it's in a different month.
Loaded up during the end of year Steam sale, despite not having installed the app yet. Which I’ve done since, enjoying a few games of the original Master of Orion and the tense start of an X-Com campaign. I bought stuff I can’t run yet, but additional RAM and a new GPU are on the way.
Now to dust off my old Sidewinder for some MWO and flight sims. PC gaming is unlikely to replace my existing consoles any time soon (my PS4 and 360 are old and very dear friends), but my enthusiasm for the next generation of BoxStation may be waning.

I know this will probably be posted in the Free Games thread, but Star Wars Battlefront 2 celebration edition is free on the Epic Game Store today. I've been wanting to get it on PC as I don't have an active PSN sub anymore, and now it's free, that's a great deal.
Speaking of Free Games, Humble store has Bomber Crew free for a limited time. Also, it's the start of Humble's Winter Sale, so there are lots of deals over there as well.
My local Target still doesn't carry sub-$100 Steam cards. But they happily put Roblox cards in all available slots.
Those planograms aren't usually set up by the retailer. The gift card rack is leased space by companies like Blackhawk and they decide what to fill it with.

It's a four level plastic rack sitting on the shelf in the games area. There are shelf price tags for all kinds of things that aren't displayed. Tidy it up and it would be half empty. The $100 Steam cards aren't in the correct spot.
I don't care who is responsible for it, it's a fucking mess. Last time I asked, they said the store had 100+ $20 cards but they were not in any of the locations to find gift cards.
Also, Roblox is fucking enormous now. Think Minecraft-level huge. They probably make five times as much money on Roblox cards as they do Steam cards, easy.

Which is even easier when they have five times as many $25 Roblox cards as they do $100 Steam cards.
My problem isn't Roblox si much as a slot for $20 Steam cards exists and hasn't had any for sale since at least September and instead, cards that don't even match the slot are all over the place. This time happens to be Roblox.A month ago it was probably iTunes or some other online storefront.
MS, SONY, and Nintendo cards (if they have them, I don't look) have their own sections in their own aisles. All PC is dumped together like it was a pick'em display for $5 DVDs. I would just like them at least to try to stock the shelves with what they claim should go there.

But again, they don't stock the shelves with gift cards. They're stocked by a third party company. You're directing your anger at the wrong people.

Target allows it. And I'd previously said that at least a short while back they had over a hundred $20 cards in inventory but zero of them on any shelf or display in the store. Knowing how retail works, there is no magical stockpile of some items if the shelves are empty. The store only ordered so many and for vague commerce reasons sold out. In this case, there is no need to stockpile more cards because the vendor will be along in a couple of days to add more. And that's fine.
For the two months leading up to Christmas, this target had zero $20 Steam cards, at least 20-30 $100 Steam cards (and still does), and in this location in the store, half of the rack barren of any labeled gift cards. The only time I saw them running out of stocked cards (for XBL) was immediately prior to Christmas. And there were still some choices remaining.
Target may not be responsible for stocking them, but they are responsible for providing shelf space. And allowing three and xounting months of blank shelf space is an absolutely poor decision.
I like the Marie Calander's Creamy Parmesian Chicken pot pie. And every time I go to buy them, the slot is either empty or filled with a different pot pie I don't want. We have all gone to a store and seen an item we wanted missing and replaced with a similar, but not same, product even with the correct tag still up. And when this happens, there is a high chance that the item you want will not reappear for a while.
The reason is that whoever is responsible for ordering new product, vendor or employee, simply sees the shelf space as full and moves on. Stores face up their shelves to look full of product and hopefully you'll buy what that have instead of skipping for the next (or next or next or next) time. In this case, Target themselves is allowing a half-empty shelf area exist for 1/3 of a 12 month period.
This wouldn't even be an issue if Steam cards were stocked elsewhere (they are not, in spite of the large wall space available for every other kind of gift card [that Cracker Barrel or AMC theatre gift card feels like an excellent purchase during an pandemic and thank god I have so many opportunities]) or even if they were simply terminated from the inventory all together. I can still get them from the less convenient Best Buy when it comes to it. But here is four months of a missing or improperly located item I would very much like to purchase with no seemingly reasonable explanation and zero effort to address.
Yeah, my guess is that Steam cards aren't nearly as popular as other cards, since the semi-enthusiast nature of the platform likely means there's a higher percentage of people just paying online. This is probably just market forces at work, and I'm sorry you have to resort to cards for whatever reason.

My local gas station sells Steam/PSN/Xbox cards and I get bonus points with their loyalty program, albeit a small amount (but I get nothing from stores like Walmart, so it’s better than nothing).
Loaded up on Humble during the Winter Sale. Nice mix of PC classics, PC versions of games otherwise stuck on old consoles, and some newer stuff. Thank you to everyone who posted about it.
I'm particularly looking forward to loading up Far Cry 2 with the overhauls and realism mods the community has devised.

I am not sure where it went. It existed prior to the holiday merge, but I don't know where it went after that.
