    Umineko Ep 4
The ending of Episode 3 was amazing and I fell for it hook line and sinker. Incredible stuff.

I couldn’t wait to see where Episode 4 took the story

And then I started it and it’s hours of Maria playing with stuffed animals and Ange flashbacks.

    It’s really dragging.

Yeah it really drags for a while but it ends up going some neat places by the end so its worth hanging in there if you can

People talking about Bleach reminded me of Number One. I am not the biggest fan of Bleach (It starts out real strong but that's about it.) but it has maybe the best main character theme of any shonen show?

Also it has the lyrics "You're the queen, of the scene, living in a dream" which just makes me so happy being in a 'big shonen action song'.

if you had any trepidations wrt the content of the first season of the TV series, the movie absolutely doubles down on those

the stuff that is good about the series is at its A game, the stuff that is disturbing and/or skeevy (often both at the same time) is very much at the core of the film

(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.

From what I've been told the anime is actually toned down from the manga in terms of skeeviness.

This song was basically Ichigo's "time to fuck shit up" theme and when it started it meant he was about to do a big hero thing. Which is what helped make this moment all the more "Oh shit."

Also, since I'm in a spoiler, the part I totally missed was with how they got poisoned by the bomb. I found the bomb explanation seen boring and awful so I just skipped because I thought it was going to be stupid and then all of a sudden they are bleeding randomly. Whoops.

But it blew up like a nuke already! The poison just seems like a way to totally empty out a city. Who would make something like that!
Honestly I think you guys have had this conversation before it's just so baffling to me. Also that it even worked on things that can destroy a building is hilarious.

You've heard of animals chewing off a leg to escape a trap? There's an animal kind of trick. A human would remain in the trap, endure the pain, feigning death that he might kill the trapper and remove a threat to his kind.

I really don't dig this interpretation

and that whole fight was about how even if you are physically and intellectually superior, none of it matters if your frame of reference is small and you lack the resourcefulness humans have had to develop to survive in a terrifying death world

Eh, no, that bomb is 100% that even in a terrifying death world humans are the biggest monsters. The very existence of those bombs (plural, because a lot of them exist) has everything to do with people killing people.

I'm kinda worried I might be rubbing up against the "don't just drop 'dead dove do not eat's of creepy anime bullshit" rule, but I want to calibrate what to expect with this. Do they keep the scene where Bondrewd is trying to figure out what Reg's piss is made of?

Boy you are going through these at a clip.

Also, the Answer arc is when Ryukishi took over without his partner, who passed between the two, and there's a pretty distinct shift in tone because of it.

Don't get me wrong, it still has great moments, but it definitely feels... messier than the question arcs. I did love the ending though, unlike most.

back to being a pretty faithful VN adaptation this week (with what I'm sure will end up being a couple key differences)

some of it felt a little too fast and some of it felt a little too slow, exposition bits were perfunctory but the spooky bits nailed it
