also Indonesia's population is way bigger than most people realize (270 million) so the potential audience is not insignificant, plus in recent years it's become a pretty big hot spot for anime and gaming in general
sizable market that hasn't been saturated yet, plenty of room to establish yourself and grow with the still developing culture boom
That’s so interesting! I had no idea Indonesia was that big
Well that and the linguistic diversity explains a lot
Not saying they shouldn't, just seems kinda random? Like why not the Philippines? I know their Chinese branch had trouble, and I could understand why Korean might be a problem.
Does Indonesia just love Vtubers? Nijsanji has Indonesian streamers to right?

Not to a notable degree anyways; they speak more Dutch than Hindi
Also there was a government 'dissuasion' about speaking Chinese for 20 years so it is also not that popular

It's still bahasa indonesia, but in recent years English has become so common place that certain linguists have stopped considering it a Foreign Language and more like an Additional Language
I refuse to believe the people in chat were being unironic. There's no way there's that level of pedantry over the pronunciation of Pikachu.
English speakers throw hissyfits over gif and pecan, i absolutely believe Japanese speakers have equally strong opinions about equally meaningless pronunciations
also, native Japanese speakers can get fucking NUTTY about their pitch accents in general. you can take a word with two possible accents and get 5 different opinions about how to pronounce it
