Posts with youtube embeds not appearing in searches

Haven't been able to get one to turn up, whether I search for a phrase in the text post, the gibberish string of characters at the end of youtube urls that identifies the video, or just "youtube". Posts with a video embed just have not been turning up in the search for me. Weirdly enough it seems like the search actually does find them, but then just doesn't display them in the results. Like, it'll say there's a lot more results than it actually shows, and often when there's multiple pages of search results some of those pages will not actually display any search results.
