it'll be the same thing that happens to those places that don't have sun during that time normally?
you're not wrong!! I remember being a toddler in Ireland and throwing fits over having to go to bed while the sun was still up, and get up while it was dark. But when we switch to DST as an adult my entire life is better significantly haha
I'd love it if you took a look at my art and my PATREON!

Beggars can't be choosers, but the guy is 32 and I maybe unfairly have some misgivings about a therapist younger than me
I've got career issues I want to talk through and I was hoping to have someone like...who has had a career?
A lot of promotional emails from sites I don't care enough about to either unsubscribe from or read, delivery and payment confirmations, and LinkedIn notifications
hey you can absolutely be a chooser re: a therapist. No compromises for therapy. Hopefully he'll be rad but if he sucks fire him.
I'd love it if you took a look at my art and my PATREON!
You get a prompt when you press select all to the right of the "50 messages selected" message that lets you really select all.
Or used to
I had a burst of creativity for a few days where I was all about creating a D&D one shot, but then I stopped but I want that reminder there to finish it up at some point
I wonder how much money they offered him to stay
He’s also now asking for data that I’m almost certain isn’t in the database, but I’m using good judgment and not voicing my guess (so I’m not accused of being negative) and just letting the guy assigned to check to figure that out himself
And now it is weekend; give me your botanical gin recs that you think I might be able to pick up at a pretty well-stocked liquor store in DC in 30 min!
stop the madness!
So they're in the backyard with the cat on a leash
yeah but nobody ever applies this very special analysis anywhere else
it's just that some stats nerds were mad about losing an hour of sleep
fuck up once and you break your thumb / if you're happy at all then you're god damn dumb
that's right we're on a fucked up cruise / God is dead but at least we have booze
bad things happen, no one knows why / the sun burns out and everyone dies
Once every three months or so I apply a filter to only show unread, and group by sender.
I then start unsubscribing from things that provide no value to me and bulk deleting by sender.
Takes about 30 minutes, 3-4 times a year.
Let's play Mario Kart or something...
A couple of weeks ago there was an update that crashed if you tried putting two documents side by side.
At least they fixed it in the following update.
I'd love it if you took a look at my art and my PATREON!
Yeah, sure. Sign me the fuck up.
Totally valid to switch based on demographics like that (like I know someone who feels too competitive towards other young women and needs her therapist to be a man so she doesn’t lie to seem cooler)
But also college ends at 21-22, msw in the next 3 years, he has been a therapist for probably 5-7 years already which is not nothing
Studies on sleep deprivation follow a similar pattern as studies on drunk driving: you are measurably impaired before you know you're impaired. You also have measurable cardio risks before you know that you're sleep deprived. Consequently, you should be self-skeptical towards any instinct that you can dismiss the negative impacts of circadian rhythm disruption just because you haven't personally noticed a problem.
And even if you have noticed a problem, the notion that just because you had to suffer through Objectively Bad Thing therefore other people should, too, is (to put it mildly) silly and unhealthy.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
He does not actually know
Interesting interesting
2000 or unreadable so is a very manageable number to go through if you just do it.
first, kill all the bulk mail. start at the top of the unread list and for every bulk email you find, filter for it, then unsubscribe and delete all. After about 20 rounds of this, 75% of the email will be gone. If something is not like a store newsletter but actual spam be sure to mark as junk.
Next find all recurring billing emails, same as the other stuff. Filter, select all, mark as read, and possibly archive them if you want records.
After this, 90% will be gone. You'll have about 200 messages remaining. Button through them, deleting, junking, and archiving as necessary. In an hour, two tops, this task will be done forever and upkeep is easy.
yeah i'm pretty okay with "people die as a direct result of a completely pointless and unnecessary thing that literally serves no actual purpose, therefore we should stop doing the thing"
Or, and hear me out, select all, mark as read, start new.
Or:
Just don’t. Look at the first 10-15 emails only. If there’s something important, read it. If you miss something important, it will be sent again.
Masturbate for 2 hours.
Is enthusiastic shirt removal now mandatory during meetings or forbidden at all times? I think I missed the end of your work drama
@Shivahn
what are you even talking about? stat nerds? what?
No, it's that car accidents, strokes, industrial accidents, and heart attacks rise in the month after the spring time change. And despite what matt said above, they aren't balanced out: most studies don't show the reduction in heart attacks in the fall mentioned by matt's linke (and even then, matt's link shows that the quantity of fall reduction isn't enough to offset the spring spike), while car accidents spike immediately after both the fall and spring clock changes.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
Oh hey that's what mine's at too!
Well, my main personal email anyway. If you add my secondary and professional emails (not my work email, the account I use for job searches and whatnot), it's more like 22k.
Someone around here has like 40k+ iirc.

These are great instructions to give to whoever I someday pay to do this bc I will not, ty
I'd love it if you took a look at my art and my PATREON!
But that's really annoying. Email notifications become useless and every interaction with email becomes a bit of a slog and you legitimately miss things if they come in with a big pack of trash. That all kinda sucks.
I bet DK would do it for free
This is one of the three good things about Arizona so I’m actually surprised Georgia’s on this trolley.
