If I were to be honest, I tend to play Mystic Adepts, which are the min-maxer's archetype of choice. They allow you to get pretty much all of the strengths of an Adept and a spell-chucking Mage with few drawbacks. Bonus points for cramming a light amount of cyberware and bioware into there to really cheese out the character.

It me. I'm the special snowflake build.

Also, I'm missing Technomancers on that list, but they're basically Deckers/Hackers and are total fucking nerds, too.

I've been looking but feeling overwhelmed. I might just go for the 40 dollar a month thing just to try it out and see how that goes. There's also some udemy courses I got linked. I'm having a hard time finding available jobs that look like they'd fit me, everything's like minimum 3 years having already done this and also you know ruby and c++ and kubernetes and all this already, right? It's just kinda overwhelming and I'm sure I'm just looking in the wrong spots or something. But I gotta find something that'll pay more than where I am now. I should do a Rigger run of HK or DF. My playthrough of DF started with the intent of rigging, but I didn't know how to build my character in a CRPG at the time so I was pretty shit at it, and by mid-game I'd shifted to being an AR man.

I assume everyone's first CRPG character creation goes something like "Well I wanna be a spacewizard obviously, but guns are also rad so I'm gonna put some points into them too. Oh but I should also put some points into drones, then I could like, have my drones put suppressing fire down while I move in for a flank with my magic and guns! Oh and I should pick up first aid too because healing's always super handy," and then when you're a ways in and are starting to understand the combat you realize "Oh I suck at everything." That wasn't just me, right? I hope that's not just me.
