I’ll be fair and admit I’ve seen maybe two episodes, ever. I’ve seen more Enterprise than I have DS9.

I've only seen S1 but to me it's like Mass Effect and Star Trek had a babby

Each season has a single over-arc, which is new for Trek, and it looks like a million bucks. It has lots of Klingons and space fights and it’s also the first Trek where the focus is not on the captain or commanding officers.

Plus that cast! Sonequa Martin-Green is great as the lead, plus you got the guy from Rent who killed Kevin Spacey in real life, Draco’s dad, Michelle Yeoh, Keemah from The Wire, Abe Sapien, and Rebecca Romijn. Plus lots of cameos from TOS characters!

I really need Mass Effect Legendary to be out like yesterday. It's exactly the kind of game I need right now.

It's dawned on me that maybe the reason I've been so wrong about Star Trek all these years is because I started and ended with Enterprise.

I mean if you start with that it makes sense you'd never want to watch any more Star Trek.

I've gotten like 5-6 hours over the night, just split between two sleep periods because I had weird-ass dreams that woke me up.

They weren't scary or anything, they were just weird and not conducive to continued sleep.

    Discovery did the thing:
Extremely smart villain's plan is to get captured and put in a torture pod AND counting on a random person he slighted to let him out - to kill him personally.

That's not a fucking plan jfc. That's so stupid.

I am having a wonderful homemade bagel sandwich.

Pastrami, egg, munster on a poppy seed bagel.

Compare this to the GF's much healthier version yesterday of lox, cucumbers, and cream cheese on a toasted sesame seed bagel.

My tin foil hat theory is that he was always an asshole and wrote an asshole cartoon series and then was miraculously not killed in 9/11 and decided to devote himself to being better but he was already locked into the devil's bargain (with Fox). I think he uses dirty joke money to do good.

    I give him a 5/7 and I'd have a beer with him.

Discovery is mediocre sci-fi and bad Star Trek. The pacing and tone are so relentlessly flat. But I only watched the first season, I think.

Picard seemed even worse but had more interesting goals (which it immediately fumbled).

The Orville is just a less good TNG with some jokes, but I liked it more than either of the above.

  • knitdanknitdan Registered User regular
Part of the appeal of NFTs is scarcity so Chanus agrees would not be the best thing for one.

    Skippy awesomes, however...
