A lot of Stardust Crusade is experimenting with the new concept of the Stands so a lot of the early parts are hit or miss but once they get in to Egypt it really grows it's beard... or... dog?
D'Arby and onward though are some of the best episodes that Jojo's ever had, and Iggy's the fucking best.
fight manga with powers, that's been running on and off since the 80s, kind of a cult classic, which has been getting a full anime adaptation for the first time in the last 5 or so years
jojo is a series about all the different ways in which you can get your shit rocked before you smirk and tell your opponent that it was your plan to get your shit rocked the entire time

"I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer" is an all time comeback line
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Jojo is I know that you know that I know that you know that I know that you know the series.
When it's good, it's real food, and there is nothing quite like it.
Also I wonder how those credits are going to change (every Jojo since stardust has had credits that change in accordance with BIG REVEALS. All of which have been thematic and awesome)
I was wild thinking I knew Jojo was about a bunch of weirdos using their stands to fight, then finally watching it and being surprised it starts off with vampire weirdos in Victorian times.

Fuck yeah! And the author doesn't plan to end the series any time soon either.
I hadn't heard of this one before.
and it seems like this was a very good time to start reading it (and continue and get caught up).
I do wish it wasn't quite so male-gaze-y -- I get that it's the point and that's how she does things, but I feel like there's a way it could have been done which would make it more clear it was for him, not for me, if that makes sense?. 'Don't tease me miss nagatoro" does the same sort of thing, though not quite as constantly, and the cartoonier art there makes it less weird-feeling.
On the other hand, when it's not doing that, the art in Anjou-San is really pretty and expressive, and they've done a good job of keeping the cast size manageable so that we can pay attention to what's going on between them.
(on which note -- I know that part of the plot of Komi-san is that she wants to make 100 friends, but sheesh, I was already having trouble keeping up before, and the couple of dozen new characters this time around is not helping any)
Dunno if anyone's checking it out but this new manga, Ayashimon, is a pretty good read so far.
It's set in a Japan where the yakuza are secretly literal monsters and the male protagonist is a (so far at least) human guy who trained himself as a kid to be so strong that he now can't hold a real job. So he's absolutely thrilled when he stumbles into the monster-yakuza's secret because now he has people he can actually fight like his heroes; Goku, Kinnikuman and Jotaro.

Burned out in the middle of stardust crusaders.
That's definitely the highest burnout potential part

You cam skip a lot of that. Dios crew are pretty lame overall.
it's my favorite part!
but yes it's so fucking weird
It’s always a ringing endorsement of a show when you’re like “skip episodes!”
I don't skip episodes, but I do absolutely power through the doldrums.
Thankfully, once you get past those there's a damn good fireworks factory waiting.
But yeah the next season of Jojo shines like a diamond. Best paced, best characters, and best villain.

The thing is that the whiffs are big whiffs but when stardust is firing on all cylinders it slaps
the Darby bros and the confrontation with DIO are all timers

Fabulous.
That's honestly the simplest correct answer.

this isn't yamato, aim for the ace OR devilman, not to even get in to the 60s stuff
They don't call it Jojo's Normal Adventure
yeah, that makes sense
