Daggerfall was their best one even though it was a bug-ridden nightmare to play. Morrowind was fantastic, but also really unpolished and difficult to put up with. Arena was...Arena. Oblivion was a bland blandventure of blandness.
Skryim is pretty much a mature, polished masterpiece.
It also has literally hundreds of hours of content. Eminently moddable content, which people have done a lot with. But even the vanilla game is fantastic. It's the first time the game world felt genuinely alive again, since Daggerfall.
