The new forums will be named Coin Return (based on the most recent vote)! You can check on the status and timeline of the transition to the new forums here.
The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
With the late start, we need to steamroll this process as much as possible, so I won't be holding our normal voting process or idea submission. I hope that this coin is just as wonderful as the others and you all enjoy it. I will be open to idea changes, but we won't have a lot of time to flesh them out. So here's the current plan/idea.
Landmark side:
Mutter Museum
I'm thinking the third image, with the side of the building at a slight angle with the purple banners spelling the name.
Photos
Front entrance
Side with banners
Angled Side with banners
Gaming side:
Pandemic
I'm thinking something like one of these, where it's a low angle component glamour shot. I'll likely take my own picture to include one of the disease vials and maybe a card. Don't want it too busy though so it's difficult to make into a coin.
Photos
The ring and metal I'm thinking of just sticking with 2019's style unless there's a desire for changing that.
Here's a survey for picking the gaming side of the coin. I'm hoping to get the design wrapped up this weekend and off to Kiddercorp! https://rebrand.ly/PAXU21Coin
Ok, I've got what I hope is something everyone enjoys. There were two pictures who had close rankings, and no one seemed to hate them. This one had a bit better rankings.
Due to the issue of fitting a rectangular object into a circular hole, I realized that only the front of the building seemed to fit into the space well. The other photos I could find just didn't work well.
I'm planning to send this over to Kiddercorp tonight unless there's an issue, so let me know what you think or if you spot a typo or something.
Coins may not arrive in time this year due to current manufacturing and shipping environments, and shipping costs went up a bit but they were able to hold the per coin cost for us.
Please follow order form instructions carefully.
Info on UV Printing/Painting:
Using a new process to get color onto the 3D back of the coin this year. It seemed the easiest way to translate the image and the examples looked pretty good. Here are the examples they sent me.

Do you have any idea if they'll make it before the end of December? I'm cool with them missing the show but I am moving on the 28th :?

I'm pretty sure they'll go out by then. Based on past shipping time frames, I'd say they may start shipping next week. Depends on if there were any other delays or not. I haven't heard back yet so they're still at the manufacturer. I'll usually get an e-mail when they get notification that they're being sent to Kiddercorp for fulfillment.
Is there no challenge coin being made for this years PAX Unplugged (2022)?
I hate to say it, but between the covid gap, these forums not even being listed on the event sites for the past few years and almost all activity drying up on them, it kinda feels like the challenge coin projects are over
I'm sorry guys. I just haven't had the brain space to work on this. Life has been crazy, and I am still unsure if I'm going to be able to go.
Interest and activity on the forums has decreased a lot over the years, so just to sell a majority of the coins I'd have to hit up bgg, Facebook, and other areas to reach more people.

Yeah, its sad to see but forums are slowly dying across the board it seems. All the community projects like forum badges, challenge coins, and other stuff like that has all been killed off by the big C hit.
Ah, sadness. I love the coins! They are a perfect "souvenir" for cons.
Also sad that forums are "dying" on sites in general. I've met some wonderful people over the years in forums.

I don't keep up with it much but the community discord seems to be pretty lively. The other option would probably be the subreddit.

Yeah, I just wish I could keep up with all the Discord servers I'm in. Still, for the forum projects and things like the coins, the forum was always the best way to keep track of them. Discord always seemed not as suited to the task to organize longer term project stuff.

Personally agree, though it seems like the forums are just completely disused at this point. I don't even think PA has a link to the forums on any of the PAX sites anymore.

To my knowledge, those sites are entirely managed by Reed now, though I could be wrong.

Just got word back from Kiddercorp!

Shoot me a PM and I'll update your address.
Thank you everyone for your patience! Hopefully next year will be closer to a normal timetable.
I'll keep ordering open for a while since these are arriving so late. Plenty available if anyone still needs to order.
