Watching the DS9 finale now and I can't express how happy I was that we got a callback to the

i have been informed that a kangaroo court is in fact not a court run by kangaroos and i have never felt more hurt or upset
I'm not saying a proper kangaroo court would give out justice, but it would probably give out a few damn good kickings and who's to say that's not better than the current system.
Is it kangaroos or badgers? Why can't council make up his mind? Objection!

One’s a noun, one’s a verb! You can’t do this to me!

Next episode! It’s the one I have heard about! Hard Time!
Already at the start that whole issue I had with sons of mohg rears it’s ugly head.
Bashir literally just removed someone’s extensive memories earlier!
I wonder if they are going to hand wave that at all
I also wasn’t expecting the sentence ending to be the cold open
Munkus Beaver on

I love the story. And i love the direction and presentation here.
But good God, the legal shit is kangaroo court
Remember the TNG episode where Data's existence as a person is being decided and the judge drafts Riker to argue in favor of him being just a machine? And when he refuses she threatens to summarily rule against Data for it? Made her navel-gazing about what a monumental and humbling position she was in pretty impossible to take.
"As someone who's actually studied ______, the way _______ is depicted in this movie/TV show is grossly inaccurate!"
The thing about the trials in most star trek isn't that they are inaccurate. Its that they are horrifyingly draconian and cruel. Kinda goes against the idea of the utopian federation.

Yeah that was stupid as fuck too, but it was a great episode.
I enjoyed the episode. I am just bitching about the portrayal of law because of course I am.
Anyway, Hard Time was amazing. Nearly moved to tears by the end.

Edit to add: Badgering.
listen no offense to your customs but you gotta stop giving law degrees to marsupials, they have no sense of decorum
