two of the best chess players in the world played against each other

the game lasted 8 hours and 140ish moves which is the longest game in the history of the world chess championships

and it was neat because analyzing chess as computer simulations vs actual grandmasters is neat.

Basically they went on weird deviations from standard openings that made the Krillins and Piccolos of the chess world go WTF, was that what happened?

I can't even follow what's happening there, the distinction between foreground and background has melted into a sludge of Tiles.

So you idiots got me obsessed with that stupid wndrwll video and I have thoughts...

I'm at a loss as to why this guy made that video. Did he love or hate the song?
    1) If he loved it, why did he spend so much time and energy animating and listening to the song over and over just to shit all over it?
    2) If he hated it, why did he spend so much time and energy animating and listening to the song over and over just to shit all over it?

However, I can somehow see the diverged paths come together to the same gleeful point.

I would say that overall, Neil Cicierega loves music, but is willing to hurt music to find remarkable sounds. In the same way that someone might really love food, but also might pour milk on a bowl of Cheetos just in case it makes an interesting new flavor they can share with you.

The song "Wndrwll" is from one of Neil Cicierega's mashup albums. The TF2 music video was made by someone else. Whether you consider his works masterpieces or crimes against music, I get the impression that he generally likes the music he uses in the mashups.

For reference, he is also the person that made Bustin

I don't mean that it is bad. Merely that Neil Cicierega has completely replaced it in my mind.

Also, I don't really know popular music, so I might actually have heard AC/VC first.

It's not the best of the albums, yeah. I do love Yahoo, though.

It definitely went back to that Mouth Sounds well of making intentionally unpleasant songs as an extended shitpost, though, so some of them aren't good for casual listening.

I've always liked some of his less mashup-y, more remix/rearrangement songs from the Mouth Quadrilogy

I introduced my older brother to Neil C's stuff a few days ago and after listening to some he told me that he hated Neil C.

Then he started sending me some of the songs that he thought were funny and he liked.

well made video with a good explanation
    https://youtu.be/pOzJQJ1yAaM

my supervisor worked in the clean up crews at chernobyl. he recently told me this story:

He said that it was very hard to find useable toilets in the town so people just kind of went where they could. One week, he found a nice garden area with a pretty flower and "decided to help the flower with some ammonia". He returned to this flower several times over that week.

At some point his dosimetry was analyzed, and his was noticeably higher than it should have been. He was asked: "can you think of anywhere you've been that would cause a higher rate?" He stopped to consider where he had been. Something in his mind became suspicious of the flower. He went to check the flower.

5 rem per hour at the top of the flower. (equivalent to 50 mSievert/hr)

For reference, the legal limit in my country is 5 rem in a 5 year period.
