After having read the thread, those last couple infractions from VC are complete bullshit. He is using his mod powers to squash a valid point of view that he just happens to disagree with.
Those points should be removed and the admins should give some serious through to letting VC continue this kind of behavior.
Are you talking about VC giving infractions for arguing in a H&A thread? In case you're new here, H&A is not the place for a debate to be held. Two of them didn't even get any points, just for warning. Also, it's frowned upon to make a public post about a moderator decision (for or against), with private messages being preferred.
1) PMs are the required means for those who get points to dispute them. I never posted in that thread.
2) He was not "right in what he did". He was giving extremely crappy advice based on the whole "It's a federal crime abloo abloo ablooo". Telling ones parents, who are paying your way through school, to "fuck off" over reading mail is terrible advice. And disagreeing with that is exactly what H/A is for.
3) Fuck you about your "new here" e-peen. I've been reading / posting around here since early 2000.

Well, for what it's worth:
Post: Parents are gone...I'm doing something crazy, and need some advice.

Infraction: Minor Offence
Points: 0
He didn't even award points on the first offense, just the second for pushing the issue. It's not like he banned these people or something.

Never the less, the mods prefer to have their decisions questioned in private rather than a public post. Whether you agree with this or not, the least you could do is send a 'WTF dude?' message.

No, H&A is for giving help and advice. If you feel that the advice given is poor, then start a thread in D&D stating why.
Actually, there is no rule in H/A against disagreeing with the advice of others. In fact I would say VC is breaking one of the more important rules. That being "Do not give really, really bad advice".
Edit: In fact, Than in the rules thread specificially says no "Criticizing someone else's advice without providing any reasoning or alternate advice". EG: He encourages the providing of reasoning and alternate advice as in this case.
Except that the thread had changed into a discussion between the two points and at then it is up to the mods to say it has gone to far and to inform the people doing it to take it to D&D if they want. He's the mod, it's his call to make. He did so and they continued to argue, so they earned their warnings. It's a well known rule of H&A to not hijack the thread into a bitchfest argument, both of those posters should have known better.
If you have an issue with a moderator, PM me about it. Be aware that if you use the same abrasive tone you used in this thread, I will completely ignore it.

Then you ought to know better than to start a thread such as this.
