If you want a good Willem Dafoe movie on the list, put The Lighthouse back on it. Somebody stole it away from me.

William Dafoe is good in almost every movie he's in. He's even the best part of The Florida project.

... I don't know what there was to fix; I copied the most up to date version (Magell's edit), and since no one else had cut The French Connection, my edit should be valid.

Also, did you ..not notice who was cutting The French Connection? Regardless, it's explicit that the list has to be updated to be legit, at least until the final leg. So I was getting myself right with god.

It's because the first time you cut the French connection there was no list attached.

I don't understand what you're trying to clarify. You quoted me explaining that
-- for lack of an attached (updated) list, my earlier edit was not valid.
-- since no one else had cut The French Connection in the interim, I got a mulligan.
-- having used the most up-to-date list, nothing needed fixing.

Anyway, Dizzy D, it was also a gentle poke at eagerness to help overriding due diligence; I was amused and baffled that you remembered my earlier edit but completely glossed over my name in the correction. And again, until Zonugal makes the call, only edits with an updated list are valid -- no dibs.

I was just explaining how it was missed in the first place. When you cut French connection, there was no amended list in the post. If it didn't need clarification that's great, I was just trying to be helpful.

We should try to move past this issue, as we have more blaring and immediate ones.

Remove Perfect Blue, Add Aquaman. Has much better blues in my opinion.
Might be my favorite Superhero film since Thor Ragnarock.

But also I don't like the way Perfect Blue depicts psychological horror.
Even outside of that hangup, I don't think it's a movie I would recommend to anyone outside of anime horror fans.
    1. Aquaman
    2. The Bad Sleep Well
    3. Baahubali

Darren Aronofsky copied scenes from Perfect Blue in at least two of his films.

But y'know what? He deserves a shot on the list anyway. Just not for one of the films where he "homaged" Satoshi Kon.

Instead, let's get a bugfuck-crazy-becauase-it's-Biblically-accurate film on here. A film that gives Aquaman a run for its money on amount of water on-screen.

A film I still think about for so many reasons.

    Cut: Boondock Saints
    Add: Noah (2014)

    1. Aquaman
    2. The Bad Sleep Well
    3. Baahubali
    4. Battles Without Honor and Humanity
    5. Before Sunrise
    6. Big Trouble in Little China
    7. Burning (2018)

I watched Lawrence of Arabia and Ben-Hur this past weekend.

Does our list have a historical-epic on it?

What if Ben-Hur got thrown on there?

I saw that there The Batman film and I think it might be the best of the Batmans movies. It was at least the best shot and directed of the Batmans. Still debating whether it belongs on a top 50 list. I guess y'all will find out if I consider it do be worthy.

I love Shin Godzilla but my only complaint is when it came out in theaters in the US it was released with the original Japanese title cards for everything that added a sense of being drowned in the bureaucracy for me and neither the US blu ray or the “original Japanese version” on Amazon prime have them.

Holy crap that's really interesting. Like that adds so much to the movie.

I had my girlfriend popping in and out and she was like "WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO GO BACK TO THE MONSTER!" during all the political scenes. but it was really interesting how a modern reflection of politics.

I also like how Godzilla evolves throughout the movie, by the end being a truly horrific monster worthy of terror.

I mean, half the movie of Shin-Godzilla (and the entire subtext) is about government bureaucracy.

When I saw it in theaters we were waiting outside for the theater to open for seating and there were like families with kids there. If memory serves more than one of them walked out because that is just not what this movie is at all.

That first atomic breath though, I felt some real terror when I saw that in theaters.

Also on my rewatch list was Brazil, which while interesting from a visual and thematic perspective, ultimately is a pretty boring movie.

It is really good. It might be my favorite Batman movie. I wouldn’t fight it being top 50.
