[Overwatch 2] Quoth the Raven, "Never Lore"
Posts
I get that, on attack, roundabout routes often take too long and the team breaks up. But on defense, you get to choose where to position. And yet a huge % of players choose the low ground. Why? What’s the thought process? This is on PC.
One support told me that the taliban should chop my head off. How does a statement like that even cross people’s minds?
Obviously, I blocked and reported, but seriously, wtf is wrong with people?
I actually think she’s generally kind of bad? She doesn’t do much dps and has a big hitbox so she gets bullied except in very close maps.
And if I try to take an angle, I never get peel or healing because they are tunnel visioned only on the cart. Win the fucking fight people!

Animation doesn't look amazing but I think this is how they should have been delivering plot from the beginning.
That Symm regen thing is nutty. But the best change is Ramm's vortex finally passes through players.
Lifeguard Mercy is 20 bucks, so nope, not getting it with current token amount.
I hate that most of the best skins are paywalled. It was nicer when there was a better balance between paying and grinding for good stuff.
The turret isn’t interesting to begin with, which prob means it should be reworked. It also promotes gameplay that is static and boring (place turret then spam down main).
That’s not to mean every hero needs to have the mobility of tracer, but moment to moment decisionmaking should always feel impactful and necessary. Ana is a great example of how dynamism doesn’t necessarily mean movement, but can be contained within decision trees. Her prioritizing healing or damage, a hugely impactful skill shot, and healing/dmg utility rewards players for mechanical skill, correct resource management, and good positioning.
Torb and sym often represent the polar opposite, although sym allows some creativity with TP placement (but honestly, not a ton). Placing a turret in at an unexpected angle is a rather lackluster mechanic for skill expression compared to the other options.
Hopefully, the balance team gets a bit more creative in the upcoming reworks.
Not a single brain cell to share among them. I don’t know how players like that manage to install the game, honestly, without their brains overheating.
honestly, wtf is up with these changes?

I like that it’s on “sale” from $34
Doing well on Nepal last night on Tracer, so one of their DPS goes Sym to counter. Oh no! They swap off almost-instantly and go Hanzo, as Cassidy was already taken. Went 40 and 7 and got a PotG for one-clipping an ulting Soldier.
And the titles bug is fixed, so you can once again not have a title if you wish. Good changes all 'round!
It's a Tracer Buff Patch and I love it.
Anti heal is fucking weird because it has so little counterplay. Zarya bubble and Kiriko bell - that's it, and that's all. And bell's CD is far longer than the nade's.
Sometimes I'll play Kiriko into Junker Queen just to deal with her ult, but her ult can cross chasms of space and hit an entire, well-spread-out team and the Bell's AoE will save maybe one or two of your peeps.
But Queen's ult is also part of a whole other discussion about how some tank ults are fucking bonkers (Ram, Queen, Rein), some are merely reasonable (D.Va, Orisa, Ball, Zarya, Hog) and one's pretty shitty (Doom).
I checked out that ulting Soldier counter potg from last night and eyyy it was actually a 5k. Didn't even remember.

And in Zen's case, it's like all he's got. Maybe my problem is I've only come across like six Zens in six years of OW who seemed unkillable, to me.
Least I got a sick-ass PoG before it went down.

This, Folks Who Bought Baywatch Mercy, this is what you're paying for.
But I mean, more power to those snipers I guess.
Those Symmetra changes are exceptionally cooked, but I think the turret spotting mechanic is an extremely neat idea. It's nice to have more tools in the game that play around with the 'information is power' approach, and it gives them more interesting utility than just being setup for a microwave hallway
Elsewhere, Jared Neuss, executive producer for OW2, says they should have some "interesting updates" regarding mouse and keyboard use on console in the future.
Going on precedence, this means they're going to fully support MnK use on consoles, and MnK players mixing freely with controller players. If they didn't endorse this kind of cheating, it wouldn't be fucked - and if it's Blizzard, it's fucked.
