So the new Marine dex is putting more Oldmarine units out to pasture is what I'm gathering? Or consolidating Oldmarines with Primaris? Like Sternguard being one datasheet for both?
Putting them out to pasture. They are releasing primaris models that will fill many of the gaps.
Some of those could be more or less continued to be used with the primaris datasheet depending on the equipment, but a bunch of those don't really have an equivalent
Two ironclads on top of each other in a trenchcoat?
Tri-Optimum reminds you that there are only one-hundred-sixty-three shopping days until Christmas. Just 1 extra work cycle twice a week will give you the spending money you need to make this holiday a very special one.

The only stuff I think will really be missed are Jump Librarians and Attack Bikes. Maybe Sniper Scout Squads.
I like Speeders but their use as super-disposable light vehicles never really seemed to gel with the rest of the Marine cast, and the new ones fit better.

Pretty sure the new scout squad includes sniper rifles, so they’re probably just getting merged, so you’ll still be able to take a full set of scope boys.

If the scout preview was correct, there is one sniper rifle in the box

Thunderfire, Hunter, and Stalker are weird. You could just rebox the Thunderfire with a Primaris Techmarine; and unless there's new hotness, the Hunter and Stalker were all the AA vehicles. Though those might be replaced with some floating monstrosity bristling with five different variations of 'stubber'.
Shut up, Mr. Burton! You were not brought upon this world to get it!

Thunderfire's cool but as a resin kit it was definitely for the axe.
Hunter and Stalker havn't been any good since the domination of aircraft in 8th (?), and even then i dont remember them being super popular. They probably dont sell very well.
Centurians must be up for the chop soon, but they've had decent rules semi recently so people might still be buying them.
Just guessing all this of course

Controversial opinion: all flamers should be Anti-infantry 4+ with Devastating Wounds. Change my mind!
No seriously, they are just boltguns that auto hit in exchange for some range at the moment. Not worth it compared to the other, blatantly better, options. Yet their power has very little to do with actually burning things but more to do with sucking up the oxygen in the atmosphere before the enemy can breathe it in.

I kind of disagree, but only in that I think devastating wounds should be kept to heavy flamers instead of all flamers. I feel like that would balance things better. And I saw that as someone who loves flamers even if they are bad.

Thunderfire always had issues meaningfully differentiating itself from the Whirlwind and was a very complex kit; probably just didn't sell well enough to justify making a new mold when the current one wears out.
I've literally never seen a Hunter or Stalker on the board, so probably similar issues there. You can just wrap an AA mode into the Whirlwind datasheet if it's really necessary.

Trying to decide if i want to build a generally meta shooty black templar army or build around a land raider, 2 squads of sword brethren black tide army.

I have not built the 2 crusade squads I have I did find the tanks I misplaced [I have a gladiator and either an implusor or replusor} I am curious if I can use the left over parts on some of the Intercessors got that I did not do anything with as I got them for my homebrew kill team/combat patrol
I have a feeling my brother is going to bench his space wolves in favor of playing necrons and/or tyranids
Once you got the links together it's probably even way easier to fit together than precurved plastic belts even if you go for the premade stock positioning of the model.

i'm getting mold-line terrors just looking at that ammo belt sprue
Yeah, that's the worst part about it really
Nice thing is it’s a new mould for a low volume product. Lines should be minimal this first batch.
Also if they’re smart they put the line right on the interior rim of the part rather than halfway up the sides. Even untrimmed it would be barely visible that way.
Have Wolves had that over the helmet animal crest before or are they just stealing Votan stylings for the Praetor because they did space viking much better?

Also scout bikers I guess.
Compared to the Desecrator they painted up I see now it's split shins are black on the outside thigh armor is on the inside in black
Still it is a debate how serious I am about building a knight army

Like, I mean, the poseabilty is cool, but the prep is going to be soooo repetitive

It’s an improvement from having to build any of the forge world resin kits though.
So we betting one box with both weapon options or two separate kits?

Honestly on stuff that small and numerous just leave it. If someone calls you out on it just say it's a shitty weld.
The silly wolf helmets seem to already be scrubbed from ForgeWorld's site.
Kind of a shame - they could have hung around for anyone who did want them.
