    How do they check for that

    VA doctors and a representative for yourself go through your medical records and identify anything that qualifies, then send you to a doctor to establish the severity.

    It's kinda sorta quantified via how much it affects your body overall. Or if your left knee hurts and you've also had a history of ingrown toenails on that foot, you'd receive compensation for whichever is higher.

    Given my stint in the psych ward and ever changing cocktail of medication, I have very good odds to reach 100% on that alone. Which, uh, is an extra $40k a year untaxed.

    If you have ratings for multiple things with VA and one gets worse, it may not be worth it to put in for an increase because they will make you have everything evaluated again and the push right now is to lower ratings across the board.

    Tough thing #2343:

    Between my wife's hobby of collecting seasonal decor and decorating the house, and my kid's pile of toys that used to be my wife's when she was a child, and 5 years of accumulated new toys, the house is just permanently a mess and there is just Too Much; I can't clean it and there's no room to tidy any of it away and it just sits out in the open and we walk around it and kiddo has no play-areas since every available surface is covered in cruft

    And my wife doesn't really listen to me that it's just Too Much and we'll just keep on living. Like, I've been bitching about this since Maddie was born, and it's been 5 years and nobody's died, so this is just policy now

    We're having company tomorrow and I'm trying to clean and I'm trying to dig with a teaspoon
