13 years ago for the Cataclysm expansion, Blizzard introduced the female Worgen which looked notably goofier than the male Worgen (and was also worse than it's alpha testing iteration). They eventually overhauled it when they were doing model updates for the playable races.
Are any of the artbooks more recommended or more comprehensive than others?
The art books all focus on half of an expac from what I've seen, so the set of Shadowbringers books should be comprehensive for that content. The encylopedias are lore books first and foremost.
Does the pictomancered house simply indicate they know where you live or are the threatening to fill your home with laser moogles?
it's the equivalent of responding to someone by posting their address (or, more commonly on the internet, just their IP address)
"I know where you live", basically, with the implication of a threat

female worgen went through a very late update in the cataclysm beta out of concerns that the first draft was too disney, cute, furry, etc. and did not reflect the feral wolflady vibes they wanted to hit. unfortunately there was not enough time to properly iterate and the model had a few issues, including an un-emoting mouth that was permanently stuck in a wide-eyed snarl. this was pretty frustrating to everyone who had liked aspects of the original models like "the ability to close the mouth and express neutrality".
they have since received a model update that includes the ability to emote.
Trans and Puerto Rican. Maybe no more everyone being randomly british and occasionally indian or british indian everywhere in the world for this expansion maybe? But on the other hand maybe not, they did occasionally hire talent from other places for a few roles with the predominant bulk of voice acting still being UK-based. Like they always hire icelandic voice actors for the english cast voicing viera characters, in the tradition of Fran's voice actor from FF12.
The main reason for the British accents is just that Side UK is, well, based in London. (They're the ones behind e.g. Xenoblade Chronicles 1.)
I guess this is them roping in their Los Angeles team for the set-in-America expansion?
full idea: solution 9 are survivors from another shard that were saved/given some sort of twisted amnesty because the ascian in charge of engineering that calamity was uplifted from someone FROM that shard and didn't want to see it fully lost. thats why there is an asican-y glyph in the 8 man raid art
like "i gotta rejoin my home shard but im a softie so ill set up an arrangement where if they just stick to themselves over on this corner of the source they can chill in peace and maintain their culture"
or "these evil space wizards are going to destroy my world and want me to help. they'll kill me if i refuse to help and just get another guy, so instead i'll try to save what i can"
coinflip whether the guy in question is still around. but it would get us the flipside of fandaniels coin of "dude who was uplifted to an ascian seat but doesn't actually give a fuck"
people joked about us finding a random fisherman two expansions from now who is revealed to be a lapsed sundered ascian who doesn't want trouble, i say this will be that
plus: a preserved culture from a shard could easily be more advanced then whats on the source b/c they weren't getting calamity'd constantly
i'm what they call "a genious"
here's a similar idea a friend of mine had
survivors from another shard who sent themselves to the source the same way graha and the ironworks sent the crystal tower to the first. Same reasoning of they could have been much more advanced on another shard because no calamities and time flows differently and different history and such.
And if the name is indeed a reference to Zidane as it sounds, it could be hinting at the themes of the relationship of the worlds of Terra and Gaia in FF9.
Also I just realized Viper is using a Zidane moveset isn't it
i think its very possible. i'm stuck on there being some sort of like, sympathetic sundered ascian who helped them out though. because they didn't put the symbol of an ascian that we haven't seen before in the raid art on ACCIDENT
the ascians' names are borrowed from ff12, where their unseen namesakes were counterparts to ff12's summons, and the ascian face glyphs are truncated, inverted versions of their counterpart summons' glyphs in ff12
this glyph does strongly resemble a glyph from ff12 - but specifically the top part of mateus's glyph, which was already reworked in a substantially different fashion for his ascian counterpart, lahabrea
i don't think we're getting More Lahabrea Lore for a second consecutive 8-man raid series, but you never know
I'll be honest, I've been mulling over that glyph for a while and I'm pretty sure it's just, like, a caricature?
Now obviously it's way more asymmetrical than the Ascian glyphs, but also it looks like you've got a horned head of some sort and then two hands in the bottom left and right.
The broken lines also fits the style we've already seen with the other glyphs in Solution Nine's art, which include things like an eye, a chocobo, a bottle advertising a bar...
I really hope it's not an Ascian glyph. There's prob gonna be some connection to the unsundered world what with the alphabet being the same, but we just finished up an entire story arc with the Ascians. Whatever sundered Ascians that might still be kicking can wait a bit.

it could also be like, a religious icon
Solution 9 could have an older/more positive relationship to the Ascians/unsundered and those legends would've warped over time into mythos or godhood.

Pictomancer is definitely the class I'm more interested in, all about that Relm action.
Sethrak not being playable is a big blunder on blizz's part.

It was a reference to the original female worgen, as Lars correctly inferred.
