Welcome to Marvel Snap. This is a fast-paced CCG where games are only meant to last for 3 minutes. The game is developed by Second Breakfast, a new studio formed by a lot of old Blizzard employees.
Here's the hype trailer:
https://youtu.be/61zjv1HcJDI
And here's a breakdown of the gameplay:
https://youtu.be/eYYcxWMCghEGame flow:
Basically, you'll build a deck of 12 cards. The game starts with 3 "locations" in the middle of the board. The first location on the left is revealed on turn 1, with the next two locations being revealed on turns 2 and 3. There are a total of 6 rounds, with each round having a player draw a card and gain an extra Energy to play their cards.
Players simultaneously place their card(s) on one of the three locations in the middle of the board. Once they lock in, their cards are revealed and any effects resolve. Your cards provide a Power value that combines with all your cards on a given location. If you have the most power at the end of turn 6, you win the location. The player who controls two of three locations wins the match.
More details:
Here's the highlights directly from the developer stream:
Everyone starts with the same, simple starter deck.
Some cards in the starter deck don't have any abilities. (Thing, Misty Knight).
There will be 60 locations available at launch of MARVEL SNAP.
Every week, a new location will be added to the game.
New locations will have an increased frequency of being seen when it's still new (a couple of days).
They already have "a ton" of new locations created, ready to launch after release.
Closed beta is starting within the next week or two. Go sign-up for it (Android only).
Cards have rarities, but all cards have the same chance of being obtained.
You can upgrade your cards to higher rarity levels.
Each rarity has a new cosmetic flair for the card.
Common - Static pictures of the card art.
Uncommon - The artwork breaks out of the frame.
Rare - 3d effect on the art.
Epic - The card gains an animation.
Legendary - The name of the card becomes shiny.
Ultra - Your card border becomes animated.
Infinity - Split the card into two copies, you keep your infinity copy and you get a new common version of it with a special cosmetic effect.
You can repeat this process multiple times to gain extra special effects each time.
Collection level increases as your cards gain higher rarities and this helps you unlock more cards.
Every month will have a new season pass with themed rewards.
Every month brings new cards in via a battle pass and later on they will become available for free.
Battle passes might be about upcoming Marvel content coming out or previous events in the universe.
Each month is a new ranked season.
Higher ranks means better rewards each month.

Pretty neat stuff. In addition, his new text allows them to OTA adjust him by giving him less base power and/or capping the power he absorbs. Great change over all.

Won a silver conquest against an infinaut deck who leeched me basically every game, that felt good. 75% of the time it felt like the leech didn’t slow me down at all, but that person was also pretty obvious with where the turn 7 slam was going
… also Hercules rules, the power bump feels significant. Like him and the one drop movers can threaten a lane on their own it feels like, while hurling a huge power dagger to the right side of the board for heimdall on turn six? It’s good
Good decks never really been required for infinite though. I think someone with enough patience and time could pilot literally 12 random cards.
And the aftermath:
There are a lot of unspoken rules in Snap. One rule is if Wong is in play and you have no way to deal with him, just leave. Nothing good will come from staying. Of course, this is Infinite, so it doesn't matter, but still.
I do appreciate them sticking around to get the final screenshot.

I'm not sure if the meta has mellowed since the Blob nerf though, as I can't fully trust myself to allocate time appropriately with the app, and so have uninstalled again.

it's very fun.
also i'm stuck at 93 for no reason.
this has been me with Hercules. just accepting that I'm here to get dagger, vulture, and human torch as big as possible and if I finagle them into a winning combo of locations that's just gravy
Edit: realized I had a bunch of credits built up, got another key and nabbed grandmaster! So a stupidly successful spotlight week for me, huzzah
I always recommend picking up what you think looks fun or if you just like the character. You never really know what might get buffed (or nerfed).
The above in mind, none of the cards you listed are really notable at the moment. Living Tribunal is at least a build-around.

Took 4 to get GM which kind of sucks!!!
...Howard the Duck it is!
Yes, I know he sucks as a card, I just dig him.

Alioth makes heads explode, it's so rude. Mainstay of my destroy deck and it wins me a lot of games!
Sometimes it's worth sticking around for Wong bullshit!
In case that's too small, I won the round but that Wong lane... 2,097,165 points....
OK, now that's funny.

Normal C3 stuff with the "Ah ha!" move being T5 Valkyrie on the left/right lane, then send her mid with GM on T6.
Plenty of other cheese lines as well with Scarlett Witching your Limbo or Quaking locations (see above). Maybe there's something here.
Being Cerebro, you'll get location screwed, but also pull big cubes from unorthodox play lines.

There are a few headaches with the list. I removed Iron Man to fit in GM, which makes Mystique a lot less good. If I leave Iron Man in, I gotta cut something else for GM. And if I add GM & IM, now I have to consider Ravonna. She'd allow for a T6 Valk+GM for double lane clear surprises.
Choices...
Also, I navigated around Monster Island to win a PG match.
To be fair though, it might have been a bot since there was no reason to not play Shang Chi middle.

Wasp is one of the best cards in the deck. A 0-energy 3/5/7 power card is nutty.

I will be pulling for the Thanos one, that's the only card that has one that I own
Yeah, I cut Quake for Ravonna and Magik for Iron Man. This set up gives Mystique another target and Ravonna can discount 4 cards, unless they get hit by Bast, which is such a bizarre but necessary interaction for C3.

I think if you're running Ravonna, you cut Bast.
And then look for the double Valk instead to handle all the zeroes.
Personally, my C3 decks don't use Bast, but also don't have Iron Man and Grandmaster, so I'm unsure whether you need him with the extra zeroes you're running.
LOL
