[Marvel Snap] A card game where you'll hardly play mainstream Marvel characters.
Here are some Sunday Funday decks I found online that I thought y'all might want to try out. As a bonus, they all feature Black Swan if you need to get those weekend missions with her completed.
Swanos
*not sure why the stats say 7-6, as I only played it twice for 2-0/5 cubes*
Swanos is a Zoo hybrid for Thanos. Your win conditions are Spectrum or Valk on T6. Ideally, you play Black Swan on on T4 so you can flood + Prof X or T5 so you can flood your 1-drops on T6. Time Stone on T3 can ramp out BM or Prof X on T4. Play out stones, Dazzler, and Ka-Zar on curve to prep your locations for your pop-off T5/T6 plays.
Strong Dump
These popular decks are variations of the hand dump concept. You aim to end the game with an empty hand to empower your Strong Guy. The versions play out differently, with Drac looking to hit Red Skull/Infi and Zoo going wide with Monkey. Both decks want to play BS on T5 to empty the hand on T6.Blade is very important to hold as a T6 play. Use him to discard any cards to leave your hand empty (Zoo) or with only one big card left for Drac.
For the Zoo version, try to hold Electra until near the end of the game. NOBODY is playing around her and she can snipe off a Sunpot/Nebula for a huge board swing. Hitting a 2/3 power 1-drop is a 4/5 power swing by itself. I've stolen cubes with her.
Monkey Miracle
This deck is a hybrid Monkey Bounce deck using the Lovers (CA + A13). You'll have to really focus on your turns and think about your follow up plays, so no auto-piloting here. Typical Monkey gameplan. Use your 1-drops to maximize On Reveals then bouncing them back to hand. Bishop and Hit Monkey aim to win you two locations.
BS on T5 sets up your massive T6 with Monkey while powering up your Bishop. Bast only has 2 bad target in BS and Demons, so use her liberally. Getting 2+ Demons in hand is often game winning. Captain America is a surprising 3/8 in a full location with A13 on board.

Playing Gold Conquest and lost an 8-cube game in round 1. Opponent Ms. Marvel emotes a few times, so I do my best Captain America impression and say, "I can do this all day." I proceed to rope every single turn in the second and third games. They left midway through the third game.
I recognize that I am an asshole, but I'm also a spiteful fuck with a lot of free time today to troll a troll.

If they refuse to give me a global mute, and my opponent does any BM bullshit, I am 1000% with you - I will rope every single thing I do, I will drag it out, I will be as petty as the tools allow me to be, and I will never, ever, feel bad about it. I most frequently have to do it after we both snap and bump first round of proving grounds, and they don't leave after losing, but have also been hit with the unneeded emote spam that required some additional spice.
This is the future. This is what we built. This is what we wanted. It must have been. Because we all had the fucking choice, didn't we? It is only our money that allows commercial culture to flower. If we didn't want to live like this, we could have changed it at any time, by not fucking paying for it.
So let's celebrate by all going out and buying the same burger. -transmet
deadpool destroy has been the best deck since they nerfed blob. and when they went to “nerf” it last month they chickened out and instead buffed it with the hulkbuster change which smoothed out its curve.
it’s marvel snap on easy mode, it’s comical how strong that deck is and how incredibly easy it is to play lol
i mean the issue, and i dont think its gonna last much longer, but everybody stopped running armor and cosmo - if the destroy dominance continues, people will just add them back and it makes it much more awkward to play

it’s still really effective and cosmo is a self own against it in some regards because you can’t shadow king anymore. pretty much have to throw down random hard reads, and unless you snap beforehand the destroy deck is out with 1 cube easy.
I'm really not sure what Deadpool deck people are railing against here.
My Deadpool deck lost a lot when Chavez was changed way back when, and I don't see anything that would have fixed the consistency issues around not drawing Deadpool or not drawing the appropriate destroy.
The Hulk Buster change is nice, but it's still very drought or bounty, I imagine.
I was running Cosmo not to long ago and obliterating people because nobody plays around it.
I think it’s past time that Zabu gets changed. Enabling two 4-drops on T6 is busted beyond belief. 4-drops can be strong because you can’t normally play two at once. Zabu changes all that.
Given the Beast change, I wouldn’t be surprised if Zabu turns into an On Reveal with the same ability. And truth be told, if that kills Zabu, I’d be ok with that for a while. See what a non-Zabu meta would look like for a bit.

nah destroy has a ton of ways to win. deadpool is one of the ways but you can win with a bunch of different play paths and it’s easy to snap on so it’s cube rate is really high.
i don't want zabu touched until they figure out how to make good 3 drops - i feel like zabu is a symptom of a problem that they have across all decks (lackluster choices at 3) - look at black swan - completely overstatted with a positive ability and still basically did not move the needle. glenn has said it also, that they have an issue with 3 drops, so we'll see if they can find something workable there.

Yeah.. I'm not so sure.
I found that, when experimenting ages ago, that you either went all-in with Deadpool, or you're lucky to get him to like 8 power in a more normal Destroy shell (with Death and trying to destroy lots of things).
Took my first ever 4-key spotlight today. Wanted Corvus and Gladiator, but didn't get Gladiator until last. Oh well, scored the sweet X-23 variant and 1k tokens, so not a total loss. Still have 6 keys and nothing important to target for a while (well, Proxima next week), so I'll be able to save up.

For real, I miss my hawk deck that was just kind of a cheap power list with Jessica and crossbones
Obviously wasn’t secretly top tier or anything, but it got wins. Now both those cards are just dead, zero reason to try and pick them up even for funsies
Another week of 4 keys to get the new card. Is this what sadness feels like?
Still have 4 keys though, so I should be good for next month. Checked on my collection and I'm only missing Howard the Duck and Beta Ray Bill. Not bad.

Spent the tokens to get Corvus and am close to having enough to grab proxima, which I probably will so I can save the keys for pixie/ham/mobius week. I think ham and mmm are really the only two cards I’m missing that I want still
Edit: that said if they shut down the data mining of spotlights and turn around and change that one I’ll be pretty ticked!!
So has Snap completely abandoned bundles you can buy with gold? I haven't seen one in quite a while.
No, they still do them. There's Token Tuesday every week, Booster Packs, and the Ticket bundles, along with 2 Gold bundles last month (Inkpulp IW and Mojo for 4200, and Panteon Ka-Zar for 7000) and 2 this month (Baby Moon Girl for 2500 and Rian Gonzalez/Chibi Sera for 4500)

OTA changes:
ADAM WARLOCK
[Old] 2/0 – After each turn, draw a card if you’re winning here.
[Change] 2/0 -> 5/4
Whenever we’re developing an OTA, we always check in on cards that have been languishing, which has included Adam Warlock for quite some time. We want every card to succeed somewhere, but Adam Warlock is a special case given how powerful the character is creatively. And make no mistake, this effect is very powerful-drawing a card is one of the strongest things you can do in SNAP, as decks are only 12 cards. Consequently, the card is designed to make that fairly difficult to do.
We’ve considered reworking Adam Warlock, but like Spider-Man 2099 last time, we’re going to try something else first. As a 2-Cost card Adam needs to be dramatically more limited, because even 1 Power could help draw multiple cards. As a 5/4, you have to jump through more hoops to accomplish that. That said, drawing one card is a fair bit easier, as Adam carries a chunk of Power to compete for the location. That’s why we’re staying conservative on Power here-the effect isn’t one we want to make commonplace for a lot of decks, especially given it can fuel combo decks. But if you want to work for it, there are cards to be drawn, and maybe this is enough to get it done.
DARKHAWK
[Old] 4/0 – Ongoing: +2 Power for each card in your opponent’s deck.
[Change] 4/0 -> 5/4
This change has been in and out of our builds for several months now, as Darkhawk has consistently flirted with individual performance rates at the top of the metagame and fueled multiple decks to similar heights. We resolved to wait and see what happened after Blob and, well, it looks basically the same. Darkhawk has spent a long time at the top of the mountain as an individual card, so we’re making this change to freshen the landscape. There’s every chance we’ll revert this down the road, in a different metagame.
We do also recognize that Zabu is a huge part of Darkhawk’s strength, of course. But it’s not all on Zabu, and there are other decks with the cat that are fun and healthy. Let’s see what Zabu looks like with a new best friend in March.
FORGE
[Old] 1/1 – On Reveal: Give the next card you play +2 Power.
[Change] 1/1 -> 2/2
Funny enough, this is the exact Forge change we started internally all those months ago. It’s been a wild ride, but Forge is a great case study in what we like about OTA balancing-things can ebb and flow. For the last few months, Forge has been a lynchpin card for multiple decks and (more importantly) really dwarfing the influence of other 1-Cost cards. In fact, Forge has appeared among the top five most-played of all cards in the game some weeks! It’s been a bit much, so we’re dialing Forge down to reduce that impact. We expect to improve a few more 1-Cost cards to compensate for this loss in the near future.
ANT MAN
[Old] 1/1 – Ongoing: If your side of this location is full, +3 Power.
[New] 1/1 – Ongoing: If your side of this location is full, +4 Power.
And we’re starting with this one! Ant-Man’s one of our favorite cards, playing well for new players while maintaining some longer-term use thanks to Spectrum and Ka-Zar, among others. Given the inherent disadvantages of being a 1-Cost card, putting a little extra Power into Ant-Man’s conditional shouldn’t shake things up too much but is a meaningful amount of additional strength.
AMERICA CHAVEZ
[Old] 2/3 – On Reveal: Give the top card of your deck +2 Power.
[Change] 2/3 -> 1/2
As we’re sending Forge to 2-Cost, it made sense to swap America Chavez down to 1-Cost. These effects are similar enough to seem like they overlap, but America has proven slightly too weak at 2-Cost while Forge was very strong at 1-Cost. Both changes together should leave us with two reasonably healthy cards.
LOCKJAW
[Old] 3/2 – After you play a card here, swap it with a card in your deck. (once per turn)
[Change] 3/2 -> 4/5
Hela and variations on Thanos have both been leaning heavily on Lockjaw lately, and while the decks are fair on performance the card is a bit of an outlier. Lockjaw is fairly clearly a design risk, as a card that “cheats” Energy and kind of draws cards. However, Lockjaw is also a blast to play with! We’ve tried to maintain a good balance around the effect, but in the last few months it’s been a growing concern that even affected future design work. Moving Lockjaw up to 4-Cost takes away an entire turn of swaps, which is a big loss but reins in the raw potential quite a bit. We’re compensating that with a healthy amount of extra Power.
SWORD MASTER
[Old] 3/6 – On Reveal: Discard a card from your hand.
[Change] 3/6 -> 3/7
It’s fairly clear that our “simpler” discard enablers struggle to remain competitive, as we’ve made many strong options in recent seasons. However, even in smaller collections Sword Master is struggling to become a reliable option, which is indicative that the card could improve. This buff makes Sword Master a more reasonable substitute or a complementary card in Discard decks looking for robust amounts of Power.
VULTURE
[Old] 3/3 – When this card moves, +5 Power.
[New] 3/3 – When this card moves, +6 Power.
This increase to Vulture’s move ability is another instance of an ongoing trend we’re enjoying, which is adding a little bit of strength to some older cards that have narrowed as the game grows. There was a time when playing Vulture was nearly synonymous with playing a Move deck, but that hasn’t been the case for a while now. With Shang-Chi now eliminating cards with 10 or more Power, single-move Vultures are also safe at 9 Power, which is a nice bonus for players trying to set up something like Heimdall.
Last pint: What Fresh Beast '24 / Breakside - Untappd: TheJudge_PDX
Adam Warlock going to 5 cost means he can reasonably draw a card on his own, which is a huge benefit to combo decks. If you can cheat him out, getting 2 draws is possible. Maybe some form of Ramp/Tribunal? Probably not, but maybe?
At the very least, I think AW is way more playable at 5 than 2. It has seen virtually zero play over the past year. I like the experiment to see if it works out, although I personally don't think it will. 4 cost would be dangerous if Zabu remains unchanged.

The nerfs are once again way more interesting/impactful than the buffs - I think hawk & lock decks are on ice for the foreseeable future (unless you can reasonably put zabu into your lockjaw deck) - that warlock change is hilarious garbage, I dont find him anymore playable, and if his needle moves at all I'll be shocked. Antman and vulture are the only two that got me lookin, and antman is prob the only one I would use, since move is not even close to my jam.
The chavez and sword master changes are forgettable.

I just had Sword Master help me win a game in a Surfer deck. He fills the role of old Maximus as a big T6 stat stick, especially after a T5 Sera. SM and Gladiator w/Surfer vomits out a lot of points.
Of course, Alioth is still a thing and blows you out hard since you often don't have initiative.

yes but that is a deck you were already playing him in - im not gonna find a way to include him in a non-surfer/non-discard deck (and i really dont even like running him in discard at this point) - like this does not put him into 'good card meta' territory for me (primarily because his drawback is big gamba if played on any turn but 6) - hes just one point better in the few decks that still use him.

Hope Summers (Season Pass): 3/4, After you play a card here you get +1 Energy next turn
Pixie (Series 5): 2/1, On reveal: Shuffle the costs of all cards in your deck that started there
Cannonball (Series 5): 5/8, On reveal: Move the highest-power enemy card here away. If you can't, destroy it and replace it with a Rock
Mockingbird (Series 5): 5/9, Costs 1 less for each card you have in play that did not start in your deck
War Machine (Series 5): 4/6, On reveal: Until the end of your next turn, nothing can stop you from playing cards anywhere
Season Pass variants are Iron Man and Magneto (they look awesome)
New locations are Krakoa (Your first card played here adds its power to the top card of your deck) and Utopia (3 and 4-Cost cards cost 1 less)
Spotlight Caches:
war machine gonna be a top tier anti bullying card - im here for it. minus cannonball, this month of cards looks better than our last batch.
really wish they would get away from pure series 5 bullshit though, unless they plan on actually reducing s5 to s4 in a timely manner going forward.

[Change] 3/6 -> 3/7
SD: Lockjaw too stronk! Make him cost 4!

At the very least, I think AW is way more playable at 5 than 2. It has seen virtually zero play over the past year. I like the experiment to see if it works out, although I personally don't think it will. 4 cost would be dangerous if Zabu remains unchanged.

idk why you’d ever play aw for a conditional chance at one card while nuking your tempo.
lockjaw nerf is good, probably could use a power hit because zabu exists but zabu is the problem there.

I just had Sword Master help me win a game in a Surfer deck. He fills the role of old Maximus as a big T6 stat stick, especially after a T5 Sera. SM and Gladiator w/Surfer vomits out a lot of points.
Of course, Alioth is still a thing and blows you out hard since you often don't have initiative.

really wish they would get away from pure series 5 bullshit though, unless they plan on actually reducing s5 to s4 in a timely manner going forward.
