Album is really good. I'm trying not to compare it to his other albums, especially since Call Me is like awesome. Killed You instrumental is nutty, Sticky is a fun feature filled ride, Balloon is just a joyful song, Take Your Mask off and Thought I Was Dead are great. I like it a lot.

Interesting to hear the various influences come in at different parts of the album, but the Childish Gambino influence is huge throughout

Coheed doing something different for their first release of their next album with a short punk song. Totally not their usual offering but I dig it.
THE THINGS YOU WANNA FEEL
Mike's family history (lost dad to cancer (see the song Best of Times), his mom died in a plane crash his senior year of high school (basis for the lyrics of A Change of Seasons), and now this) has had more ups and downs than a yo-yo convention. He's pretty much hard rock's version of Job at this point and he used their encore in Zagreb to start working through it:

Toad was good, but outside of their two big hits it just felt like solid rock music. I did really like when they did a drum solo and the bassist joined halfway through and started playing half the drums with the drummer.
Barenaked Ladies themselves were a lot of fun. They did a great mix of stuff from In Flight, the new record, as well as older stuff. They were a little rough on some of the faster paced parts of Pinch Me, but otherwise sounded great and had good in between songs banter and back and forth with the crowd. I got most of the songs I really wanted to hear especially Big Backyard.
The closing parts of the concert is great as they just start doing a bunch of covers of pop songs, a lot of Chappel Roan, and then they do the goodbye song from Sound of Music. During that song Ed Robertson takes over the drums and the drummer, Tyler Stewart, does a phenomenal version of Highway to Hell. Both guitarists from Toad came out during the song as well and the crowd was going crazy.

I have a pack of synth patches that's called meant to be "instantly recogniseable synth sounds from 1992 - 2014". The thing is, it doesn't quite tell you which sound is which, they just have carefully-copyright-avoiding names that hint at the original names, but aren't the same.
So, for example, "Boss Blink" is the sound from "Higher State of Consciousness" by Josh Wink, the name sounds a bit like the artist. There's also "4PM Internal", which is the sound from "3AM Eternal", by the KLF, so that time it's based off the track name. "Another Baby" is from "All that she wants" by Ace of Base, and is a quote from the lyrics. And then "Jodi was faster" is the sound from Cosmic Girl by Jamiroquai, which comes via a much more circuitous route:
There's a few in the comments on that video, but even with that I can only identify about half of them. Some are because the sound's easily identifiable (the _No Limits_ sound, for example), some are because I can solve the riddle "SPRVSR" -> "MGMT", "Motor City" is (put your hands up for) Detroit, etc. But there's a bunch more I can't work out, so I'm wondering if anyone here has any ideas. This is someone playing all the sounds so you can hear them -- though they're just noodling around, they're not playing the original melodies, as far as I can tell. List behind spoilers because there's 40 or so:

They're all frustratingly obvious once I know the answer, but that's always the way with this sort of puzzle -- so if anyone else remembers the sounds/names of (mostly dance music, or dance-adjacent) tracks/artists from the 90's/00's and wants to have a try at matching them up, I'd appreciate the help. (this isn't important, it's just frustrating that I feel like I should be able to ID more of them)

Today I put on some Link Wray for her and her eyes saucered, she was instantly in love with the sound. Shawnee dude who was a singer until he lost a lung in the Korean War, at which point he became an instrumentalist. His song "Rumble" is wildly famous, you've definitely heard it, and it's also the only instrumental track ever banned from US radio for obscenity.

My old bandmate was super into surf, swamp, and rockabilly, so I got a LOT of secondhand Link Wray over the years.
I like when somebody says you've definitely heard a song then I wait to see how long it clicks, this one was instantly.

Before the Red Power movement in the 60s, there were a few Native entertainers who were just... Kinda quiet about being Native. There were, unfortunately, pretty good reasons for that.
But yeah there's like Link Wray, Will Rogers, Bob Barker, all kinds of surprising folks!

I admire perfection, but I love a mistake.
That's not inherently bad, I'm just surprised by that vibe. The production feels small but not always intimate. Thin? like everything was compressed/flattened
After the sonically deep vibes of chromakopia I feel spoiled about good production

are from

and, after hearing this wrong for over 30 years, I now know it's saying "Down to Muskogee town", not "Down to miss funky town". (which never really made a lot of sense, to be honest)
Okay I guess
The flute solo is even crazier

What an immensely delicate song.
We lost a truly good soul in Mac Miller. Missed Calls is such an earnest and interesting song and Blue Slide Park overall signaled evolution and maturity for someone who had a frat rap reputation

And I'm not convinced Frank Ocean isn't dead either. MFer dropped Nostalgia, Ultra then Channel Orange then Blond (three music landscape-altering albums) and just meandered off
